Lumina Lacquer Holiday 2014

Good evening dears!  I jut had the most hectic day and I am forcing myself to take a breather so I figured while I am resting I really ought to share this gorgeous Holiday Collection with you.  The other day I was thinking to myself that this season it felt as if no indies really put out glitter blends that screamed Christmas to me.  Well enter Lumina Lacquer.  I swear she was in my head because each of these polishes are perfection and just what I wanted to see this season!  The holiday polishes are currently available in the shop.  Most of them are Limited Edition so don't miss out on those ones.  Before we jump in the post let me say that the sun, rain and clouds were really messing with my swatching mojo so the lighting on these pictures is going to be different for each one, sorry about that.  With that being said, let's look at glittery polish!

Jingle Bells, a Limited Edition shade, is a "Red, green, and silver holo glitter mix that includes bells, trees, and snowflakes."  It also comes with an extra packet of glitters.  This is the ultimate classic Christmas combo...red, green and silver perfection.  I let the bottle sit upside down for a few minutes before painting so the heavier glitters would come to the top and without fishing I got a great amount of shaped glitters on my nails.  Just take a look - the glitter payoff was huge!  The formula and application were both great.  I used 2 coats of Jingle Bells over an off white creme base.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Merry Pinkmas, another Limited Edition shade, is a "A pink and white matte glitter mix that includes mouse glitter, snowflakes, and snowmen in a shimmered base."  Merry Pinkmas comes with an extra baggie of glitters.  I loved how girly this one was.  The blend of pinks and white with the iridescent shimmery base was just beautiful.  Again, I let the bottle sit upside down for a few minutes before painting.  This helped bring the shaped glitters to the top and they then came out on their own without fishing.  I did place them on my nails though once they came out.  I used 2 coats of Merry Pinkmas over a soft lavender creme base.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Frozen, a "holo silver and holo blue glitter mix with holo silver snowflakes and snowmen" is another Limited Edition polish.  I can't help but look at this polish, and hum Let It Go in my head.  Its just so Frozen!  The mixture of blue and silver holo is really gorgeous and very sparkly in the sunlight.  Like the last 2 glitter toppers, I let the bottle sit upside down for a couple minutes to mix up the glitter.  No digging required to get the larger glitters and the amount I got onto each nail was quite a lot.  The formula and application were both great.  I used 2 coats of Frozen over a soft, pale blue shimmery base.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Lights totally wowed me the minute I unwrapped it.  Lights is a blend of "holo fine glitter mix of red, orange, gold, blues, purples, and greens."  It's very twinkly, very pretty.  It reminds me of a bokeh picture of Christmas tree lights.  You have the option to wear this alone or over a base color.  I went the base color route.  though I didn't want to lose any of the pretty glitter colors in Lights, so I just put on a nude base to help minimize any spots that might not get full glitter coverage.  The formula was easy to work with and the application was good.  I used 2 coats of Lights over a nude creme base and finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

And lastly, (I am back to my saving my favorite for last tricks) is Tinseltown.  It's simply described as a "A beautiful silver foil finish" this polish is a party in a bottle.  In some lighting it's definitely silver, in others it leans gold.  So it's versatile and would serve for some killer NYE nails.  The formula and application of Tinseltown were both amazing.  The glitters or flakies or whatever they are, aid perfectly flat and smooth.  I used 2 coats of Tinseltown for full coverage and only used topcoat to seal it all in for wear time.  I've had this on my nails for 3 days with zero tip wear!  Tinseltown is another Limited Edition shade.
