Smitten Polish Confection

Good evening (I suppose it's late night for you East Coasters)!  I have been working through my "to swatch" stash ALL DAY LONG!  Literally from the minute I woke up and still going.  I might need to take a laundry folding break, doesn't that sound like fun?  Also I should probably pay attention to my family - though they have completely enjoyed a day of freedom from being asked to do any chores and getting all the iPad/PSVita game tmie they could ever want!  Well I know I am in the mood for Spring because I had alot of pastels on my desk and it reminded me that I hadn't yet shared this gorgeous crelly from Smitten Polish!  This is an older polish so you'll have to scour sale pages to find one...trust me, it's worth it!  But if this doesn't float your boat there are a zillion other gorgeous Smittens in different finishes (holo, microglitter, shimmer, matte) available in the shop right now!

This is Confection!  It's a beautiful white crelly full of a rainbow of matte glitters!  Pink, blue, green, yellow....it just screams Spring and Easter to me.  The addition of the rainbow glitters makes this a very wearable white.  Also it completely quenched my desire for a glitter filled crelly.  The formula and application were both fabulous.  Confection covered well and evened itself out perfectly in 3 coats.  I was happy with the amount of glitter on each nail.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat for a smooth and glossy finish.  Ahhh, so refreshing after all the dark, wintry shades, don't you think?  

Zoya Naturel Satin Collection

Good afternoon!  Hope you are enjoying your Friday and have fun or relaxing plans for the weekend. I don't think I have Saturday plans but of course Sunday will be soccer filled.  Well hopefully you aren't too busy to take a gander at my post today.  I'm featuring the Zoya Natural Satin collection, I know there have been so many posts already but like I said earlier today, I am playing catch up right now.  I try to avoid reviews of polish I have also because I don't want to be biased, but this collection was pretty hued up and it was hard to not look.  So far I've heard mixed reviews but I stayed open minded and found the collection very refreshing and unique.  The finish is not matte - which I initially expected and would have preferred.  But I did find the soft satin finish nice.  It's not glossy, nor was it chalky.  Zoya recommends to use basecoat, 2 thing coats of the satin shade and NO topcoat.  These do take a little longer to dry so patience is key.  I think we should go ahead and check out each individual color now...

Ana is a "light tasted almond creme."  It's a perfect neutral color for any time of the year.  The first coat was a little streaky but it leveled out nicely in 3 thin coats.  I would only suggest that you not overwork this color when applying to avoid bald spots or gooping up.    

Leah is a "lavender tinged taupe cream."  It definitely read more taupe/grey on me but I totally love the color.  Cool, fresh, easy to wear with anything.  The formula on Leah was easier to work with, I only needed 2 coats for full coverage.  

Brittany is a "rose mauve cream."  This is a lovely pink toned polish that is very lady like.  I liked this one in the bottle, but not so much on my nails.  It's a shade that makes me feel like my fingers are dirty.  The formula and application of Brittany were both great.  I used 2 coats for full coverage.  

Sage is one of my favorites in the collection.  It's a "mossy sage green cream."  The color is soft and fresh feeling - like I'm outdoors taking a huge breath of clean, crisp air.  The formula and application of Sage were both perfect.  I used 2 coats for full coverage.  

Tove is another fabulous color.  It's a "misty slate grey cream."  Slate is exactly the word that came to mind when I applied this one.  Formula and application were both great.  I used 2 coats of Tove for full coverage.  

And rounding out the collection is Rowan, "a suede taupe cream."  I think this one is actually my favorite.  Rowan is a very wearable brown that will be a nice neutral for many occasions.  It was creamy and easy to apply.  Great formula.  I used 2 coats of Rowan for full coverage.  

ellagee Ella-gance & Crown Jewels

Good morning all!  I'm trying to catch up on swatches and posts, and quite frankly failing.  I just can't seem to keep up anymore!  But I've rallied and have so many swatches ready to share with you all!    Today's post features a few gorgeous ellagee polishes!  I've known ellagee/Laura for over a year now and I've always loved her polishes.  ellagee has a wide variety of collections and finishes that will make any polish fan happy!  So let's get this show on the road and check out polish!

Up first I have a custom, and unfortunately it means it's not available for public purchase.  But it does show off Laura's talent in making amazing polishes!  This is ella-gance, its a deep red jelly holo full of purple holo glitters.  It was sheer on the first coat but built up perfectly in 3 coats.  ella-gance is juicy and shiny on it's own, no need for topcoat.  Love this color!

Crown Jewels IS a polish available to the public and be thankful it is!  I was absolutely blown away with this sparkly beauty.  Crown Jewels is a "mix of metallic and holo glitters in multiple pastel jewel tones with silver holo and pink microglitter."  So darn pretty.  It even flashes the bling in low lighting. Crown Jewels had a great formula and covered nicely on it's own in 3 coats.  You could also wear 1 layer of a base color for a different look.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat for a smooth to the touch finish.

Glam Glaze Vintage Pin-Ups V-Day Collection (Partial Review)

Good morning dolls!  Happy Sunday.  Happy Super Bowl Day!  Are you going to be watching the game?  Having a party?  I am both of the above, but don't care who wins - I'm just watching for the commercials and the half time show.  Of course this is after morning soccer, the best sport ever!  So of course I am a busy mama bee, but I did want to share a post with you today.  Glam Glaze Polish is a new-to-me brand brand on the indie scene.  Jessica, the maker, opened in 2013 and has several collections under her belt.  She offers a wide variety of finishes: chameleon, shimmer, topcoats, glitter, holo, thermal...you get the idea. Glam Glaze Polish: Shop, Facebook, Instagram

I'm All Yours, a soft, shimmery, cool shade of lilac that contains real sterling silver micro flakies!  I was impressed with the formula of I'm All Yours.  It was creamy and thick and covered perfectly.  The sterling silver micro flakies really create a gorgeous and luxurious effect.  There looks to be a touch of holo shimmer as well because I did see a tiny bit of rainbow sparkle.  I used 2 coats of I'm All Yours and finished with topcoat.  

Check Out My Rose Buds is the limited edition shade of the collection.  I am not positive, but it looks as if it may already be sold out in the pre-sale.  If so I do apologize for sharing something that is unavailable to you.  Check Out My Rose Buds is a beautiful champagne-rose gold shade full of rainbow and gold shimmer.  It's got a very slight mauve undertone to it as well.  I love the femininity of this polish and the very boudoir feel to it.  I mean hello sexy negligee for your nails!  The formula is a touch sheer but it builds up nicely in a few coats and does not feel heavy or thick.  I used 4 coats of Check Out My Rose Buds and finished with topcoat.  

And last is Make Him Beg For It, a fabulous metallic fiery red with gold sparkle.  The finish and color on this one is gorgeous, so glamorous.  If you want to feel like a centerfold then you need this polish!  Make Him Beg For It applied a bit patchy with the first coat but evened up beautifully with the second.  Do make sure you let each coat dry fully before applying the next so you don't get any polish globs towards your tips.  I used 2 coats of Make Him Beg For It and 1 layer of topcoat.
