Fit Snack Box: December 2018

Good morning, happy weekend!  Who's out and about doing last minute shopping?  I'm waiting for a few more packages to arrive, talk about cutting to close!  Fingers crossed everything I ordered shows up.  While I sit here and stare out the window waiting for the mail mail to come I'll just munch on these tasty snack treats in my December Fit Snack Box.  This box is still available now so if you see something(s) you want to try I would definitely recommend you sign up for a box ASAP!  What I liked most about this box was it had lots of bars - those are easily portable foods that a busy mom and active fitness person (like myself) can toss in a bag or munch on in the car.  I also liked that there are a few totally new to me foods.  Click my link HERE to save 50% off your first box.  Let's jump in to the post.

As a quick side note - would anyone be interested in a post featuring some of the exercises included in the box?  I can attempt to start featuring those as well in the new year. Sound off in the comments please!

Stella Chroma: Winter 2018, Nutcracker Trio

Happy Friday y'all!  Hope you had a great day.  Mine was pretty nice, walked with a friend for coffee then met up with my hubby for lunch!  The weather was so nice too!  I'm trying to get back into switching nail polish when I have down time, though I might not really have any down time until Christmas passes.  I'm popping in tonight with the Stella Chroma Nutcracker Trio, part of the Winter 2018 collection.  3 gorgeous and whimsical polishes inspired by the popular ballet.  I love that this trio gives you feelings of dancing snowflakes, wintery nights and sugar spun sweets. The Nutcracker Trio is available now for $33 or $12 each.  And as always, you can save 15% using my code MNPO.

Makeup Review: Milk Makeup

Good morning!   I can't believe it's December 5th!  I am so behind on all the stuff I need to do!  Shop for presents, cookie ingredients, bake cookies, mail out Christmas cards...I don't even have a tree yet! Argh!  I just watched Bad Moms Christmas and I totally relate - Christmas is so stressful, there is so much pressure to make and do everything perfectly.  Makes me dislike the holiday - guess I can't shake that Grinch vibe this year, oh well.  Something that makes me feel less Grinchy is playing with new makeup.  I have purchased a few Milk Makeup items in the past and saw they were a featured brand on Haute Look recently so I took the discounted opportunity to get some more things to give a try!  Let's jump in and check out what I purchased...but I will say that I liked them all and will absolutely buy more products from this brand!

Makeup Review: Younique, November Kudos

Evening!  It was wet out today!  My boys both had to play soccer in the rain, I remember how much fun that was but I also remember how freezing cold I'd be afterward. Good thing they both had dry clothes to change in to on the way home!  Anywho...tonight I have more fun makeup to share with you.  I've tried several products from Younique in the past and there are a few things I buy consistently - like mascara.  Well, after purchasing the November Kudos I have a new favorite product that will be repurchased several times over!  The monthly Kudos is a bundle of products that go together and you get them for a slight discount. I liked that I was able to select the color of each product in the Kudos so I wasn't stuck with 2 awesome, skin tone complimentary products and one that made no sense.  The November Kudos is gone now but you can get the December Kudos or any of the products here (minus the purple mascara), individually.  PS - you should check out the December Kudos, it has a magical silver metallic liquid wants!  Well, let's check out the November Kudos!

Cynthia from Alter Ego has been making some beautiful monthly polishes for her Facebook Fan Group and the November offering is lovely.  She created Open Arms, inspired by the heartfelt thought that everyone goes in to the holidays being kind and welcoming.  I love that thought and it would be so nice if everyone in the world practiced this.  You can purchase Open Arms this month (or until supply runs out) and it will be $9.50.  Plus you can use my discount code My Nail Polish Obsession for 25% off.  I love a good deal!  I am not sure what Black Friday deals Cynthia has going on, but I do know you'll be able to stack codes!

Makeup Review: Sara Happ Sugar & Shine Kit

Alright, I've been sitting at home, not capable of doing much with only one free arm/hand.  But you know what I can do?  Shop online.  And I'm mastering it like a total champ.  Black Friday sales will be my B-word.  I did some finger stretches while perusing the holiday gift beauty sets at Nordstrom and really, really wanted this set from Sara Happ.  Sara Happ was the very fist lip scrub that I tried and to this day is still my absolute favorite.  It's the perfect amount of grittiness to oil ratio to leave my lips feeling soft and smooth.  So yeah, I have my fair share of pots of lip scrub, but this set had scrub in tubes!  HELLO you will be so easy to use and make my life better so I had to get it.  This set is actually 2 scrubs and 1 lip gloss.  to be more specific; 1 The Lip Scrub in Hot Cocoa, 1 The Lip Scrub in Pink Marshmallow and 1 The Lip Slip in Whipped Vanilla Gloss.  You can purchase the Sugar & Shine set from Sara Happ directly or from Nordstrom like I did for $38.  Trust me, your lips will be so happy you did.

Body Care Review: Alter Ego, Pet & People Potion

Afternoon!  It's officially the weekend and I'm rolling in to a full week of the kids being home on vacation.  Since it's almost Thanksgiving I've been thinking about the things I'm thankful for, the things we do have, a roof over our head, our health, being together.  The fam makes me totally crazy but I just wouldn't have it any other way!  Today I have the very last of my saved up posts to share with you and then I'll be trying to squeeze in swatch time between holding/feeding a 2 week old and daily errands (ie cleaning my house, I'm such a crappy maid I should fire myself). So the product today is Alter Ego Pet and People Potion, it's a thick balm that you can use on any needy parts.  And as the name states, it's great for people and animals!  You can pick up Pet & People Potion for $4.50.  Le't jump in.

Makeup Review: RMS Beauty, Living Luminizer

Good morning lovelies!  As you can tell, I've been a bit crazy over makeup lately.  One product in particular that I can't seem to get enough of is highlighter!  I have a good assortment of them and rotate through, always having a different highlighted look.  One day while out shopping with a friend I spotted this nice looking brand, RMS Beauty.  The clean packaging was what initially drew me in, bit the ease of use is what sealed the deal. Guys, I have never been a girly-girl.  I am not a pro at putting on makeup and couldn't do a good blend job to save my life.  I wear the bare minimum and one of the major factors that makes me pull the trigger on a purchase is if the product is easy to use.  Cream highlighter that I can apply with my fingertips definitely fits the bill!  You can purchase RMS Beauty from several places so I will just link their main website below.  I'd highly suggest perusing their website because all their products look really great.  You can pick up Living Luminizer for $38. Let's check it out!

Makeup Review: Glossier Makeup

Hulllo (say it like Mrs. Doubtfire)! Back again with more makeup to share!  I've posted about skincare/makeup brand Glossier before and I was quite smitten with it.  I actually buy the skin care line consistently now and my skin has never been nicer!  Well, I recently bought more items and once again, my expectations were exceeded and I was super happy with the products.  I tried some of the new LidStar shadows and a Generation G lipstick (let me tel you that they recently re-vamped the G lipstick tho I'm not 100% positive what they changed).  These are all available on the site now so head over for some retail therapy or pick up some stocking stuffers for your loved ones!  Let's jump in to the post.

Makeup Review: French Girl Le Lip Tint & Lip Polish

Evening friends!  I've back with ANOTHER makeup review!  What is this?  My makeup Obsession??!!  Strangely enough, I hardly buy makeup, and when I do I end up barely using it.  I'm just weird like that.  But I have had a hankering to purchase new makeup a lot lately, probably because I follow so many beauty blogs the are showcasing all the fantabulous holiday sets right now. I was shopping in a local Madewell store and saw they had a small beauty/skin care line sitting on a shelf and I was quite intrigued.  I am a bit of a lip scrub addict and have lip balms spilling out of all my pockets and purses at any given time.  So I had to snag both the Rose Lip Polish and the Le Lip Tint.  Both products are from a line called French Girl and I'll admit it was another factor that led to me having to buy and try these.  You can purchase the Rose Lip Polish and Le Lip Tint from Madewell for $15/$16 or from the French Girl Organics site for $18 each.  French Girl Organics is a bit pricier (which I find odd) but you get more lip tint color selections there.  Alrighty, let's check them out!

Fit Snack; August/September 2018

Morning and happy Monday.  I'll be honest, I am running short on posts and going through older ones that have been in my que. I need to figure out how to get a few minutes here and there to swatch, test and photograph new products.  But for now I'm just going to share what I've got!  One of those things is the August/September Fit Snack Box.  This was the "back to school" box and since I was in fact getting 3 kids ready to go back to school while being uncomfortably pregnant it fell through the cracks.  But I opened it up and was pretty excited to try the new products!  As always, you can save 30% off your first box using my link HERE. While this isn't what items are available in the November box, it gives you an idea of what kinds of snacks you could get.  So let's check them out.

Makeup Review: NYX LE Sugar Trip Collection - Paradise Fluff Ombre Highlighter - Sweet Custard & Lip Oil - Carnival Ride

Good morning, happy Saturday!  I'm at home, resting, relaxing, sleeping, cleaning, eating, watching tv.  I'm usually on the go but for now, I'm just laying low and enjoying the down time.  Earlier last week I swung y the Nordstrom Rack and picked up some new makeup.  I saw a cute display for the NYX Paradise Fluff collection, I believe it's the holiday collection?  Don't quote me on that - it's not a brand I follow so I have to do some sleuthing and see what other bloggers have said about the collection.  Anyways, the Sugar Trip collection has a few smaller collections within in featuring tins with lip products, shadows, lippie sets, highlighters, all packaged so cute and perfect for gifting.  I have been mildly obsessing over highlighter and typically get very light pink ones but saw this one and decided to give it a try.  I also couldn't resist the lip oil because I have a problem with owning way too many lipsticks and lipgloss and lip balm and all the lip products.  Anyways, as I said, there are a bunch of other products in this collection, they range from $6 - $55.  While I found these at the Nordstrom Rack, they are also at NYX, Ulta, Target, Kohls.  Let's check them out!

Makeup Review: NudeStix; Creator's Palette

Evening!  So I haven't "really" posted in a week, I've just been sharing posts that I previously wrote and scheduled while I was in the hospital having a baby!  I officially had my sweet little Liam, my number 4, on 11/3.  So hang with me as I'll likely be MIA for a bit, randomly posting things as I can while the baby sleeps or I have extra arms to help hold him.  I have plenty of things to work through in my possession but probably won't be accepting new items for review until after the New Year.  So tonight I have a fun makeup brand to share.  I heard about Nudestix from bloggers who went to CPNA over the summer.  I clicked the brand link and was then completely big brothered on social media and my news feed was flooded with the brand.  I gave in, they won.  But I'm glad I did because I wear these every day!  The concept, in the simplest terms, is makeup in stick form.  Lipstick, blush, concealer, highlighter.  This is the Creator's Palette.  I'm guessing that the people behind these 6 shades work for Nudestix?  But it was the colors that drew me in.  Super pretty shades that look great for every occasion.  Freckle was the one that sealed the deal...I needed Freckle.  It's the one I wear the most.  You can purchase the Creator's Palette HERE for $59...if not for you, maybe a fantastic Christmas present!

Envy Lacquer; Very Important Mermaid

Hullo again!  Keeping up with my plan to get all my drafts out of my que, I have another oldie post to share with you today!  Another beautiful polish from The Indie Shop held in San Francisco back in July 2017.  Swatching these polishes and looking a them again makes me so bummed that NorCal gets the shaft with all the nail polish conventions.  San Francisco is a huge city, as are most cities in the Bay Area.  There are plenty of other things to do here once the convention is over.  But I guess we get no love so don't mind me, I'll just go kick rocks.  Anywho, Envy is the brand that organizes TIS and usually has a few show exclusives for sale, Very Important Mermaid was one of those for the San Fran event.  Of course, this is no longer available but I wold highly suggest you keep watch on the upcoming TIS events and especially the event exclusive products - they are always lovely!

Hey hey all!  Remember when I said that yesterday I was going to start getting all my drafts out of my Queen?  Well I'm back with a second post to share with you!  This is a real oldie and is definite not available anymore, unless you find it in a destash.  So way back when in July 2017 I went to The Indie Shop in San Francisco.  I've talked about it before and mentioned that it was a mermaid themed event (so fun).  This is one of the polishes I picked up from the event - Painted Polish Diving for Doubloons.  I love me a good glitter cruelly and this one was really fantastic!  Let's jump in and check it out.

KBShimmer; Hard To Empress

Just going through drafts of old posts that I didn't have time to put up and I saw this one.  I felt like I really just wanted to share it so I'm back with another post for ya!  This is KBShimmer Hard To Empress.  This came out back in June when Polish Con was in New York.  It was a show exclusive that ended up on the KBShimmer website for a brief time, but because of the  ingredients used (UP pigment) it was very LE.  I have no idear if it will come back but for the sake of clearing out my drafts I am sharing it with you today.  Sorry for being a tease.

Alter Ego November Polish Pickup Exclusive: Go To Hel, Hope For Heaven

Good morning!  Did y'all survive Halloween?  I had some seriously tired kids this morning who were super slow to get themselves together.  But we all made it off to school on time and all is well.  I'm resting on the couch - got in a nice 2 mile walk last night hitting up houses from the potluck on the way home.  But seems every little walk is just exhausting to me these days.  So while I detox from the candy intake, I am going to share the last of the November PPU shades I have for you.  This one is from Alter Ego and it's called Go To Hel, Hope For Heaven.  It was inspired by Hel, the Norse Goddess of the Dead.  You'll be able to pick up Go To Hel, Hope for Heaven from 11/2 - 11/5 for $8.50, no cap.  Let's jump in so I can tell you more about this polish!

Dreamland Lacquer November Polish Pickup Exclusive: Queen of the Iceni

Afternoon!  I'm watching more Halloween movies, putting together baby things and eating leftovers for lunch.  I made homemade meatballs and they were really darn good - the kids also ate way more than I was expecting and I only had 2 tiny little meatballs left over.  So I'm back again today with another PPU post!  Are you in the know yet for the November theme?  It's Badass Women and I love where the makers took this!  Real and made up characters alike are getting their due respect.  Dreamland Lacquer was inspired by Boudicca, Celtic Queen of the Iceni.  She's basically a badass Queen that led a rebellion against Rome and their attempted take over of her land.  Artist renditions of her really give her that "I'll kick your ass and take you down" look and it's awesome!  You will be able to purchase Queen of the Iceni from 11/2 - 11/5 for $12, no cap.  Let's jump in, shall we?

Lollipop Posse Lacquer November Polish Pickup Exclusive: My Heart Is Like The Ocean

Evening friends!  I'm relaxing next to my injured child while watching my hubby make a temporary closet for the baby clothes to have a place to live.  If you weren't in the know, we are remodeling the house and went from a 3 bdr to a 1 bdr.  Things are tight, and will be even more so when the baby arrives!  But we are making due!  While I'm over here feeling cramped and out of room (both in home and in belly) I figured I'd drop another polish from the upcoming Polish Pickup for you to enjoy!  As I've mentioned before, the November PPU's theme is Badass Women and Lollipop Posse went with Tori Amos!  Now I don't know much about Tori, but my college roomie and BFF really liked her and I never could get in to her music after 4 years of listening to it (so much lamenting and melancholy tunes - you only changed my mind on The Cure, Elena!).  My Heart is Like the Ocean is specifically inspired by the song Take to the Sky.  Karen chose this song and musician because she was the inspiration for the first ever LPP collection!  $1 of each bottle purchased will be donated to RAINN, who Tori Amos was a spokesperson for.  You can learn more about RAINN here.  My Heart is Like the Ocean will be $12.50, no cap.  You can purchase it from 11/2 - 11/5.  Let's check it out!

Stella Chroma November Polish Pickup Exclusive: Badass Beekeeper & Rosemary Mint Emulsified Sugar Scrub

Hey hey hey!  Sitting here in the local Starbucks having snacks with 2 of my kids while we wait for Noah to finish up his soccer practice.  It's kind of fun to do this, we bring books and homework and get shit done!!  The kids like it because then they can play at night instead of worry abut homework.  And Julian is feeling better today, less sore and less hobbly than yesterday.  And he liked wearing his slippers to school and showing off the picture of his stitches.  But let's talk about nail polish and the Polish Pickup!  It's open THIS Friday and the theme is Badass Women.  Stella Chroma picked one of the most badass women I personally know - the one and only Courtney from 6 Harts.  Badass Beekeeper will be available from 11/2-11/5 for $12 and there is no cap.  Pam typically donates a portion of proceeds to an organization that supports girls furthering education in STEM fields and will continue that by donating $1 per bottle to Girls Who Code AND a $1 donation directly to Courtney to help her with medical costs as she goes through her treatments.  There is also an amazing new Emulsified Sugar Scrub in Rosemary Mint scent - so fresh, so clean, so much like a bountiful garden!  It will be $5.50 for a 2.5oz jar, no cap.  $0.50 from each scrub will be donated to Courtney. So let's get to the post and check these products out!

KBShimmer November Polish Pickup Exclusive: Some Like It Scot

Morning friends!  Man, I am tired.  Yesterday was a long and exhausting day with an ambulance ride to the ER and 9 stitches in my middle little's leg.  Chunk of glass - 1, Julian - 0.  Definitely hope that's the last time I have to call an ambulance for any of my kids.  I was up all night helping him as adrenaline and meds wore off so as you can imaging, this hugely pregnant mama is wiped out and fighting a headache.  But that will not deter me from starting to share the November PPU shades I have to share with you.  November's theme is Badass Women and it covers real and made up characters.  The first polish I have to share with you is KBShimmer's Some Like It Scot, inspired by Claire Fraser from Outlander.  If you haven't read the books I highly suggest you do, they are a rich blend of history, fantasy and romance.  The show is great too but it does skip parts from the book - might be hard to follow if you haven't already read them.  Always, Claire is this badass time traveler who is a doctor/healer and a woman who can totally take care of herself!  You can pick up Some Like It Scot for $10, available from 11/2 - 11/5.  Let's jump in and check it out!

Born Pretty Store: Round Stamping Leaf Design Plate

Hullo out there in nail polish land.  I am freezing my buns off at the boys practice field tonight.  I could go sit in the car but promised my daughter she could play on the playground while we wait for #1 to finish and #2 to start.  The plan is to then take #1 to a Halloween store to pick a costume because what he wants to be isn't gonna fly with me (nor do I think we will figure out the right size in a different language or will it arrive in time).  Anywho, I have a Born Pretty post to share with you and it's a lovely stamping plate that has perfect patterns for any season!  The design are great and you can just change up the colors you use to stamp with.   You can purchase this Round Stamping Plate Leaf Design SKU #40204 for $1.59!  That's like pennies to have fabulous nails, just click the link HERE to get the plate!  And don't forget you can save 10% using my code JTOW10.  Let's check it out!

Zoya; Element Collection, Fall 2018 - Part 1

Evening dears!  I had a race this morning, the Oktoberfest 5K Fun Run in a local park.  I only walked, except for the last 50 feet or so that we ran together across the finish line.  When I say we I mean me and my daughter.  We had another mom and daughter join us and it was a really fun time.  But I think that will be my last pregnant race, 7 races ain't bad!  Finished off the morning at the Oktoberfest festival and overall I ended up with over 5 miles walked!  Now I'm realizing in a camping chair waiting for my middle little's soccer game to start.  I figured I'd bring the trusty ol'
laptop with me to do some blogging and that's just what I'm doing now!  Ok so I've been sharing Fall colors from different brands and I have half of the Zoya Element Collection to show you.  I split it up into 2 parts because with how tired I am lately, swatching 12 polishes in a row is really exhausting.  So this is Part 1 with Part 2 to follow shortly.  The Element Collection is currently available and you can pick up these shades for $10 each or it's split in to 2 samplers of 6 pre-selected polishes for $60/set.  Now that you have that info let's jump in and see some pics.
