February 2020 PPU & IPU: Flora & Fauna

Afternoon y'all!  It's been a fairly unproductive Wednesday for me.  Had to take the baby to the doctor (he's ok) then decided to get a spur of the moment pedi.  But it wasn't really spur of the moment because I was in jeans and tennis shoes and didn't have any of my own polishes to take so I made a stop at home first to remedy all those problems.  I guess I'm embracing Spring, even though it's my least favorite season, and went with a soft, shimmery, shifty pink.  But you're here to find out about the upcoming PPU and IPU!  February is Flora & Fauna themed...good theme for Valentine's Day and Spring!  The nice thing is that you're not just going to get bombarded with pinks and purples (thank GAWD).  I'm seeing blues and greens and grey and even a yellow and orange!  The Pickups will be open from 2/7 - 2/10.  Don't forget to shop early to get those capped items you really want!

September 2019 Polish Pickup: Magic & Alchemy

Good morning!  Hope you enjoyed your Monday off, or at least a low key work day.  My fam-bam did nothing but laze around the house and hang out.  Though we did leave for dinner and enjoyed some live music. So Tuesday is kind of like Monday this week. August 2019 Polish Pickup: At the Carnival

Good afternoon!  I'm just getting back to regular after a vacation with the family.  Vacations are so fun, but the packing and traveling is so tiresome.  Especially when I have to pack myself and 4 kids.  That's why it's nice to take day trips to close by events like festivals and carnivals.  Speaking of carnivals, that is the theme for August, At the Carnival and it's open 8/2 - 8/5.  If you haven't browesd the albums in the Facebook group yet you should totally do so and the site is open so get over there and make your wishlist!  There are loads of amazing shades coming out. Good morning, happy Sunday!  Hope you got to sleep in and maybe get out for a yummy breakfast or brunch!  Once you're done with pancakes and OJ I have a new collection for you to enjoy!  KBShimmer knocked it out of the park with this one - though I might be slightly biased because I have always liked the pastel-neons for the Summer.  These are super amazing with fantastic formula.  I even did some comparisons for you (yay me!).  This is the Seas the Day collection.  There are 7 pastel neons and 3 UCC flakie toppers.  They'll be available 6/14 and they're $10 each.  All I have to say is good luck picking a favorite!  Let's check them out.

KBShimmer: Suns Out, Tri-Thermal Collection

Evening friends!  I don't know what is going on with this weather but it is WACKY!  Decided to rain today after some gorgeous and perfect weather days (including a few very hot days).  So whatever, Mother Nature is crazy.  And my new master bedroom seems to be colder than the rest of the house.  Both of these make it quite hard to work with thermals!  Alright, so I'm talking about the KBShimmer  Suns Out Tri-Thermal Collection.  These are super fun polishes that have 3 different colors depending on your body temperature.  I am in awe (and a bit jealous) of the bloggers who were able to capture all 3 shades at once of these polishes. I tried and tried and even left one of them on for a good week and only ever saw the colors separately or the 2 shades.  So while I love them I do have to say I found it difficult to get them to work.  But even though I never managed all 3 colors in one picture I am in love with the colors here and will absolutely rock them during the Summer!  The Suns Out Collection is available NOW for $11 each or $90 for the set of 9.  Let's jump in and check out the fun!

Morning friends!  I've been staying at my parents house this week since lots of construction things are going on over at mi casa.  It's been like a staycation for the kids and with the boys soccer practices being moved to the school around the corner it's been a relaxing week for me too!  So with my crazy life I'm behind on posts. Happy Fri-Yay y'all!  Hope you have a great day planned and an even better weekend.  I'm going to be racing tomorrow!  My first real race since I've had the baby.  I don't expect anything other than to try to run as much as I can of the 5K.  It's a mellow hilly, trail-ish course so pushing the stroller on it should be interesting.  Other than that, just hanging at home and enjoying the chill weekend while I can (until Spring soccer starts up and my calendar is full of soccer games).  So unless you are living under a rock you know that Polish Con is coming up in April.  You also know that it's in New Orleans.  I am seriously trying to figure out if I can go, even if it's just me and the baby alone!  I just want to go to NOLA, any excuse works for me!  So right now I am super jelly of all of you that already have a ticket.  Leading up to Polish Con there is this cool thing called Road to Polish Con and all the makers attending will have a special posh available for all of us sad souls that can't go to the actual event.  How cool is that?!  KBShimmer has a fabulous polish that just screams Mardi Gras to me, called Beignet Done That.  It will be available until 2/3, $10, no cap.

January 2019 Polish Pickup & Indie Pickup, Mythology

Hello!  Happy New Year!  2019, I have big personal plans for you...getting my pre-baby body back, getting back to the fitness level I was at, back to the gym, better eating habits, decluttering my life, and basically just finding a family/self balance.  So what type of resolution(s) do you have for yourself?  

Since it's January, it means the new PPU an IPU is here! Both will be open from 1/4 - 1/7 and have loads of great stuff.  The theme for the month is Mythology.  I've always loved Mythology and it was one of my favorite topics in History classes.  But this month I am doing things differently, instead of individual posts for each polish or item I have to review I am going to put them all in 1 giant post.  I feel it will be easier for you to find and keep track of items you want to earmark for later.  Let me know in the comments if you prefer 1 big post or several individual posts.

Just going through drafts of old posts that I didn't have time to put up and I saw this one.  I felt like I really just wanted to share it so I'm back with another post for ya!  This is KBShimmer Hard To Empress.  This came out back in June when Polish Con was in New York.  It was a show exclusive that ended up on the KBShimmer website for a brief time, but because of the  ingredients used (UP pigment) it was very LE.  I have no idear if it will come back but for the sake of clearing out my drafts I am sharing it with you today.  Sorry for being a tease.

KBShimmer November Polish Pickup Exclusive: Some Like It Scot

Morning friends!  Man, I am tired.  Yesterday was a long and exhausting day with an ambulance ride to the ER and 9 stitches in my middle little's leg.  Chunk of glass - 1, Julian - 0.  Definitely hope that's the last time I have to call an ambulance for any of my kids.  I was up all night helping him as adrenaline and meds wore off so as you can imaging, this hugely pregnant mama is wiped out and fighting a headache.  But that will not deter me from starting to share the November PPU shades I have to share with you.  November's theme is Badass Women and it covers real and made up characters.  The first polish I have to share with you is KBShimmer's Some Like It Scot, inspired by Claire Fraser from Outlander.  If you haven't read the books I highly suggest you do, they are a rich blend of history, fantasy and romance.  The show is great too but it does skip parts from the book - might be hard to follow if you haven't already read them.  Always, Claire is this badass time traveler who is a doctor/healer and a woman who can totally take care of herself!  You can pick up Some Like It Scot for $10, available from 11/2 - 11/5.  Let's jump in and check it out!

KBShimmer October Polish Pickup Exclusive: Resting Witch Face

Evening!  Hopefully you had a great day!  I've been running around all night getting kids to games, practices and pick ups.  I actually jumped on the freeway headed home, on autopilot, and realized I completely forgot to pick someone up!  Oops!  Then I was late to pick up from the last practice and it was literally pitch black when I rolled up, sigh.  It's been a really busy day so I'm not being too hard on myself.  Ok so I am sneaking in with a quickie post for another fantastic Polish pickup shade that will be available tomorrow morning.  If this isn't on your wish list get it on there because it's one of the more unique thermals I have come across!  This is KBShimmer Resting Witch Face (the name alone would be good enough reason to buy it).  It was inspired by The Wicked Witch in The Wizard of Oz. KBShimmer; Falloween Collection 2018

Good evening!  I've been out and about all day and I am literally exhausted right now.  It's getting really, really hard to keep up with my typical schedule as I'm getting further along in this pregnancy.  Tired, achey and cranky, that's my current life. Yup, just change my name to Party Pooper Jen.  But I have had some time to play with incoming polish and so many pretty Fall collections are out!  Tonight I have the KBShimmer Falloween Collection, it launched last weekend  at Polish Con in Minneapolis.  For the rest of y'all, the Falloween Collection will be available online on 10/1.  This is a really lovely collection, the colors are all great and cohesive, and the names are all fun (as is the norm for anything Christy names!).  I definitely have favorites but overall the entire collection is great for the Fall and Halloween. Good morning!  Sadly I am boarding a plane and am off on my return home trip.  Wah, I always hate leaving Hawaii.  I wish I lived here.  But I don't so I guess it's back to reality for me.  Might as well get it with that mind set now!  Alright, so last night I dove in to the PPU posts I have to share.  I'll continue along with that line of thought today.  The August theme is Musicals.  That leaves a pretty wide array of subject matter because basically any movie with singing in it is a musical, including cartoons.  There are so many great musicals and many are represented this month!  KBShimmer went with one that I'm sure everyone is familiar with, Grease!  When I was in high school I used to sing and act out the scenes, I would always be Sandy and would make my little sister be Danny (HA, I was so mean).  My bestie and I still call each other "Pinky Lee" when we talk to each other.  So you get my drift, I grew up with this musical and love it! July '18 Polish Pickup: Roundup of the Fan Favorites
