OPI: The Neon Collection (partial), Summer 2019

Yeah yeah it's the weekend!  I'm attending my little brothers wedding shower today - it's a couples/family event so lots of people and kids will be there to enjoy the BBQ and festivities.  I can't believe my baby bro is getting hitched!  It's a great day for a BBQ too, it's been super hot here this last week.  I'd say it calls for some neon nails!  I did a little post of a few of the OPI Neon Collection I picked up a while ago.  These are still in stores so if you love them to go pick them up!  They run about $10 a bottle.  Apparently they released a shoe collaboration with Converse and the shoes re adores!  I'm going to see if I can still get them.  While I do some online shopping you should check out my swatches!

ellagee I'm Peach

Evening all!  Hanging out with my fan watching the Warriors (I am by no means a basketball fan so I'm not really paying attention) and taking a break from cleaning my house.  I am pretty beat actually, the cleaning and few errands I did today really wiped me out.  I am fighting a cold so I'm super blah.  But this polish is the absolute opposite of super blah.  It's pretty fan-flipping-tactic actually.  And it has me in the mood for the heat...BRING IT ON SUMMER!  Alrighty, so I'm Peach is available now for $12, $8 of which will be donated to the ACLU in your name! Let's jump in and check it out.

Dreamland Lacquer #Autocorrect Collection, Summer 2016

Good afternoon beauties.  Summer is in full swing and I am enjoying the sunshine and the heat.  My kids are out of camp and have started swim lessons so I get to spend my days poolside, watching them have fun in the water.  I'm at the point in the Summer where I only want to wear bright, fun colors on my nails.  Yeah, I am totally one of those people that abides to seasonal shades.  It's a good thing too because Dreamland Lacquer has a gorgeous new collection that will make all you fans of bright colors do a happy dance!  #Autocorrect is an awesome set of polish inspired by that silly autocorrect feature that drives us all crazy.  Turning our messages into incomprehensive sentences that leave people scratching their heads trying to figure out what you wanted to say.  But some of them are quite funny too!  This 5-piece set consists of neon shades, jelly bases and glowy holo flakes.  Gorgeous!  The #Autocorrect collection will be available for pre-order from 7/20 at 2pm Central to 7/23 at 2pm Central.  So let's jump in and see some polish!

KBShimmer Summer 2016

Good evening beauties.  I'm excited to share this post with you because it's full of fantastic colors and finishes for the Summer season.  When I think of the Summer, I think hot weather, dips in the pool, vacation to a tropical paradise, bbq's in the backyard.  KBShimmer's Summer collection is inspired by similar ideas; the beach, cool drinks, and time with friends!  Loving the ideas behind these polishes because there's really no better time to sit back and relax, soaking up the good life.  The Summer collection launches tomorrow, 6/1.  Each polish will be $9.25.  So since this post is pretty large let's not dilly dally and jump right in!

The Painted Nail Tubular

Good morning loves!  How's your Friday?  Mine is lazy.  I want to do something with the kids since it's their last Friday home, but my middle just left to go to work with daddy and the other 2 are in their pj's still (ok I am too).  So I am just lazing here at the table drinking coffee and typing and browsing and texting.  Tough life, right?  Today I have an uber bright neon from The Painted Nail to share with you.  I picked this up from the Tips & Sips after party while attending CosmoProf.  This event was put on by Katie Cazorla, The Painted Nail herself!  It was a really nice event with a mix of mainstream and indie brands.  Katie is adorable and very nice.  She spent time chatting with Michelle and I and we snagged a picture with her too!  Ok, back to polish, I have a neon from her new (?) collection to share with you today and this is really eye-searing bright!  I've been browsing around but I can't figure out how to purchase these online - it's possible they are only available in her salon.  So let's jump in and take a gander at Tubular!

The Painted Nail: Nail Bar, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter

I wanted to share the picture I have with Katie and Michelle!  Katie was so cute and personable.  She chatted it right up with us like we were old friends reunited.  Her upbeat personality was catching and the whole party was a fantastic time!

So this is Tubular!  It's an uber neon, burn your eyes bright orange creme!  My pictures are showing it more red than it is but when you get to the shade pictures you will see that it's definitely orange.  I love this color.  It's my go-to neon shade and Tubular doesn't disappoint on any front.  Color, formula and application were all aces.  Tubular is really opaque, it was thisclose to being a one coat polish.  I added a second coat for good measure.  I finished with a layer of topcoat for a smooth, glossy finish.

Bliss Polish Freestyle Summer (partial collection review)

Hullo hullo!  I'm hustling butt to get all these Summer shade polishes shared with you because if you are like me once it rolls over to September I am in Fall mode!  So today I wanted to share a new-to-me brand, Bliss Polish.  Bliss is not new by any means to the indie polish world.  I know I've seen the around for a long while now but it's the first chance I've had to try Bliss!  I was lucky to bump into Yvette on my way out of the Cocktails & Colors event in Las Vegas and she was so very nice and happy!  Bliss Polish first came on my radar with creme polish, but the shop is stocked full of a plethora of finishes and colors!  I am happy to share 2 holos from the Freestyle Summer Collection.  These are still available and are $9 each.  Let's jump in and see these beauties!

Bliss Polish: Shop, Facebook, Instagram

Lookout Weekend is a loose linear neon pink holo.  Love the color, it's vibrant and very girly.  Like valley girl girly!  The formula was a bit sheer but it built up nicely and I ended up with full coverage. The application was great!  I used 3 coats of Lookout Weekend and no topcoat.

The other I received was Come Go With Me.  I'm so happy that the pink and orange were the 2 I happened to receive because they are really my weakness colors.  I can't get enough of them, they really just make me smile!  Come Go With Me is a lose linear holo, tangerine orange shade.  The formula was the same as the last, a little sheer to start but built up great with no application issues to mention.  I used 3 coats of Come Go With Me and no topcoat.

Salon Perfect Neon Pop! (partial collection review)

Hello there!  Thought I'd come back today to share a nail post with you!  With all the kids going back to school it officially feels like Summer is over.  I know it really isn't - the weather will be hot for a while longer, but all the Fall posh is going to be hitting us hard any minute now so I want to try and share all the neon polish I have before we make that transition.  If I overwhelm you with neon and bright colors I do apologize but a blogger's got to do what a blogger's got to do!  So I have a few of the Salon Perfect Neon Pop! polishes to share with you.  This brand is sold exclusively at Walmart and you really get the bang for your buck here!  A great polish for $4!  So if you still need neon in your life I definitely suggest you make a quick trip to Walmart and pick up some of these!

Salon Perfect: Website, Facebook, Instagram

Wrapped Around My Pink-y is a perfect neon pink creme.  I haven't tried this brand out before so I went in with a no opinions.  I'm really glad this was the collection I got to try it out with.  Wrapped Around My Pink-y was a bit sheer on the first coat so I was nervous.  But I am happy to report that it built up great and was very opaque after 3 coats.  Wrapped Around My Pink-y dried slightly matte, but it glossed up just fine with a layer of Salon Perfect Crystal Clear Top Coat.

The other shade I received is Purple Pop!  This is a great purple!  It's kind of grape-y, but brighter.  I found the formula much more opaque and creamy.  Actually really opaque.  I only needed 1 coat of Purple Pop! for full coverage!  This one dried slightly matte as well so I shined it up with a layer of Crystal Clear Top Coat.

Echoes Polish Stop, Drop and Holo Collection, Summer 2015

Good morning and happy 4th of July!  I do have on a 4th of July mani, I shared it on my Instagram account HERE.  Hopefully you are enjoying a brew and some bbq - ready to watch fireworks tonight.   I am doing all those things later today, but right now I am enjoying a few minutes of downtime after a morning race (which I took 3rd place in) and sharing this fabulous post with you!  This is a new-to-me brand, Echoes Polish.  If you head over to their website you will learn that Echoes Polish is run by 2 sisters from Canada.  And if you look through the shop you'll see tons of polish in a wide variety of finishes.  But what I have to share with you today is the brand new Stop, Drop and Holo collection.  A set of 6 neon jelly-ish polishes full of holo.  This collection had me oohing and aahing, I liked each more than that last.  The Stop, Drop and Holo collection will be available tomorrow, 7/5 at 12pm EST.  They will be $11CAD each and Echoes Polish does ship outside of Canada.  You ready to see neon holos?  Me too, lesgo!

Up first is Put My Fire Out!  This is a red-coral neon holo with a jelly-like formula.  This color is amazing.  The holo sits somewhere perfectly between linear and scattered (I think it's a little of both).  The formula was fantastic and the application was easy-peasy.  I used 3 coats of Put My Fire Out! and 1 layer of topcoat to gloss things up.

Here's Emergency Pink.  I know this will be a favorite because pink is such a popular color.  Pretty much everyone I know loves pink.  Emergency Pink is a perfect neon holo.  Bright, loud but girly.  We've got another jelly-like formula here and it's prefect for this polish.  The formula was nice and smooth, the application was fabulous.  I had full coverage in 3 coats of Emergency Pink and 1 layer of topcoat.

My Safety Color is indeed my safety color.  When I don't know what to wear I usually find myself reaching for some shade of orange.  My Safety Color is an awesome, juicy neon orange holo.  Just like the last ones, the formula and application were both stellar.  I used 3 coats of My Safety Color for full coverage and finished with a layer of topcoat for a glossy finish.

I really liked all the previous colors, but when I got to You Feel The Ground Shake? my heart skipped a few beats.  THIS color is totally killing it!  It's an awesome neon sour apple green holo polish with a jelly finish.  I loved everything about it, including the formula and application.  Both were fabulous.  I used 3 coats of You Feel The Ground Shake? for my pictures.  You can see that there is still a bit of visible nail line, but it doesn't bother me.  You can opt for a 4th coat or starting with a matching base color, but I really don't think you'll need to do that.  I topped it off with a layer of topcoat.

Cool And Collected is a serene but electric neon blue holo.  I can't help but think of Debbie Gibson when I see this shade of blue, I really don't know why.  You're welcome for that useless little bit of information about me.  In real life Cool And Collected is just a touch brighter than my pictures.  the formula has that great jelly consistency that is easy to build up in layers.  I used 3 coats of Cool And Collected, again you can very slightly see the visible nail line here but it's really very minimal.  I finished with a layer of topcoat.

Last but not least, especially since it was my other favorite color in the collection, is I'm Trouble.  Indeed I am.  This is a magenta-purple polish full of holo pigment.  I'm Trouble has the most opaque formula of all the 6 in this collection.  It's actually more of a creme finish too. I only needed to use 2 coats of I'm Trouble for full coverage.  1 layer of topcoat to shine things up.
