Beauty Post: Obsessed Minerals Eyeshadow Water Paints

Good day beauties.  I've got a beauty post today, woo hoo!  Obsessed Minerals is a brand I was introduced to at CosmoProf.  Obsessed Minerals is a line of glamorous cosmetics made from minerals.  This line of cosmetics focuses on intensity, purity and application.  Before I knew any of this all I knew was the wow factor my eyes saw when I walked up to the display.  The eyeshadow were particularly stunning!  Well then I had a few to play with and I adore them!  You can buy the water paint pigments shadows for $16.  There's also an array of other items you can try; eyeliner, lipstick, foundation, blush, moisturizer, and anti-aging to name a few.   Be sure to browse around after you ready my post!

CosmoProf North America 2016: Nail Product Coverage

Good morning lovelies!  I'm sure you all know that CosmoProf North America was held in Las Vegas this past July.  This is a huge beauty convention with loads of very well known companies, smaller companies and brand spanking new companies trying to break out on the scene.  It's a 3-day event, and you definitely need at least 2 days to see everything and attend all the parties.  CPNA fell on a later date than it usually does so it wasn't really great with my personal schedule, and I was only able to go in for a day and a few hours the following morning.  But I saw a ton and have lots to share with you!  I decided to split my pictures up into 2 posts, nail brands and beauty brands.  I'll start with nail since that's kind of my thing.  I hope you like my coverage of the event!

The Painted Nail Tubular

Good morning loves!  How's your Friday?  Mine is lazy.  I want to do something with the kids since it's their last Friday home, but my middle just left to go to work with daddy and the other 2 are in their pj's still (ok I am too).  So I am just lazing here at the table drinking coffee and typing and browsing and texting.  Tough life, right?  Today I have an uber bright neon from The Painted Nail to share with you.  I picked this up from the Tips & Sips after party while attending CosmoProf.  This event was put on by Katie Cazorla, The Painted Nail herself!  It was a really nice event with a mix of mainstream and indie brands.  Katie is adorable and very nice.  She spent time chatting with Michelle and I and we snagged a picture with her too!  Ok, back to polish, I have a neon from her new (?) collection to share with you today and this is really eye-searing bright!  I've been browsing around but I can't figure out how to purchase these online - it's possible they are only available in her salon.  So let's jump in and take a gander at Tubular!

The Painted Nail: Nail Bar, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter

I wanted to share the picture I have with Katie and Michelle!  Katie was so cute and personable.  She chatted it right up with us like we were old friends reunited.  Her upbeat personality was catching and the whole party was a fantastic time!

So this is Tubular!  It's an uber neon, burn your eyes bright orange creme!  My pictures are showing it more red than it is but when you get to the shade pictures you will see that it's definitely orange.  I love this color.  It's my go-to neon shade and Tubular doesn't disappoint on any front.  Color, formula and application were all aces.  Tubular is really opaque, it was thisclose to being a one coat polish.  I added a second coat for good measure.  I finished with a layer of topcoat for a smooth, glossy finish.

CosmoProf North America; Zoya, MoYou & Caption Coverage

Good afternoon dears!  Today I have the third installment of CosmoProf coverage for you to see!  Will you believe me if I tell you I am not even close to being done sharing everything I saw and learned about?!  It's insane the amount of beauty products that are here!  Keep in mind I stayed mostly to nail polish booths!  There are body and skin care products, makeup, new this year was perfume (lots of build your own scent companies), men's grooming, international brands, hair care....SO MUCH!  I did see a few non-nail polish booths and I'll get around to sharing those eventually.  For now let's see what was afoot at Zoya, MoYou and Caption!

I was excited to swing by the Zoya booth again this year!  Last year was such a fun and educational visit and I couldn't wait to see what they had new to share!  Well I already posted my press release for the upcoming Focus & Flair Fall 2015 collections and that's what they had out at CosmoProf.  So I was able to see these a month prior to everyone else!  Focus and Flair both launched on 8/1.

CosmoProf 2015: Zoya

Flair is a collection of 5 shimmers and 1 chameleon polish.  Goodness these are gorgeous!  I can't wait for my sample pack to show up - any day now and then I'll have swatches to show you!

CosmoProf 2015: Zoya

Focus is a set of 6 creme finish polishes.  While creme isn't my favorite finish, these are fantastic colors and they'll be fantastic for Fall nail art!  I am especially looking forward to trying out Lidia (dark purple) and Desiree (brown).  I'll have these on my blog very soon too!

I also got some information about the Naked Manicure collection, which up until now had been a bit confusing to me.  All questions answered!  You can already purchase this set (or individuals) on the Zoya site and they will be in Ulta sometime this month.  So this set is essentially a set of treatments and Perfector   Each color has it's own purpose.  Pink gives you super clean, bright nails.  Lavender helps correct discoloration.  If you're olive toned you'll want to use the buff shade for a natural look and if you're darker toned you will want to use the mauve.  For them to work best you want 1 layer of base coat then 2 coats of your selected Perfector.  You can put the white on top of the color - on your tips for a fresh french mani look.  Naked Manicure also has a Satin Seal topcoat with is the KEY for a clean look. It blurs the lines between the Perfector and the white tip.  Satin Seal needs a good shake before each use to activate the ingredients.  Give it a good 10-15 seconds.  There is also a Glossy Topcoat for a super shiny finish.  All of these Perfector can be layered over any color!

Lastly there are going to be a few holiday gift sets being released.  These won't be part of a collection.  Also a trio set which will be 2 polishes (from the existing colors) and a new lipstick!  The lipstick will match the polish colors....and word on the street is keep an eye out for the lippie called Maxwell - it's a stunna!

CosmoProf 2015: Zoya

Hello MoYou Nails!  I was most disappointed to have missed this booth last year.  So my enthusiasm for getting an appointment was pretty darn high!  First let me explain that this is the US MoYou Nails, not to be confused with MoYou UK.  Both sell plates, but they are different.  And MoYou Nails is much easier to purchase.  Actually they have several places to try and buy in Las Vegas!  The first thing Richard showed me the new Miss Nella collection!  It's a non toxic, peel off polish for kids!  And whoever whats to use it!  I got to see these in action and they really peel off very easily once you are ready to remove them.

CosmoProf 2015: MoYou Nails

2 polishes in the collection really stuck out to me, the pink which is Cheeky Bunny and the purple, Butterfly Wings.  I have a bottle of Cheeky Bunny to try out (on myself and Naomi!) I loved the concept of this line!  And it's nice to know there are brands that are concerned with little ones' health by making such "kid-friendly" polish.  The Miss Nella polish will retail for $7 each.

CosmoProf 2015: MoYou Nails

CosmoProf 2015: MoYou Nails

I got a demonstration of how easily the Miss Nella polishes peel off.  This probably has a really satisfying feel when you peel off a full sheet of polish!

CosmoProf 2015: MoYou Nails

Richard also shared 10 new concept collection plates with me!  They all look amazing but I was drawn to the Summer and Halloween plates in particular!  The plates are $7.99 each.

CosmoProf 2015: MoYou Nails

CosmoProf 2015: MoYou Nails

MoYou has lots of pre-made kits that include a stamper, scraper, plates and a stamping polish.  I like the ease of selecting one of these kits instead of trying to figure out what you need.  And it's a cute gift for giving any polish lover!  These kits start at $39.

CosmoProf 2015: MoYou Nails

There are also 13 new stamping colors available for purchase.  You definitely want a good stamping polish to be successful when you stamp.  The selection at MoYou is large - you will surely find the color you need there!  I didn't grab a picture but MoYou also has a new squishy stamper - the rectangle shape, which will sell for $8.00.

CosmoProf 2015: MoYou Nails

And then I stopped by Caption!  I stopped by this booth last year, just before they debuted their products to the world!  Caption had plenty of new collections to share, all in their gel-like formula.  Flash Forward will be releasing in October, it's got almost every finish in this set!  Very nice colors too!

CosmoProf 2015: Caption

The Classics collection, which is just that - very classic colors, is available this month.  It consists of cremes and shimmers, two very popular finishes.

CosmoProf 2015: Caption

CosmoProf 2015: Caption

Caption jumped on the stamping bandwagon and was given demonstrations how their plates and stampers work.  Also, their one coat black makes a great stamping polish!  The Art Screens stamping kits come with 2 plates and a stamper.  They are available now and retail for $17.95 each kit.  Here are what some of the plates they have look like...

And here's the stamper.  It's a good sized double sided squashy stamper!

CosmoProf North America; OPI, Essie & Orly Coverage

Hullo again!  I'm happy to be back with more coverage of the super fun, extremely overwhelming, foot wearing-out event that is CosmoProf.  Yesterday I showed you Jessica Cosmetics and Color Club (you can see that post HERE).  Well today I am sharing all the exciting new stuff coming out from OPI, Essie and Orly.  So I won't waste time being a chatty Kathy, let's jump right in to the post!

Last year OPI was very hush hush.  They had a closed booth that was all covered up.  You had to be invited for an appointment of even get in the door (yes they had an actual door that you knocked on to get in) and daring I didn't have the secret password.  But this year they opened up for everyone to see!  I was beyond excited to walk about their large space and checking out all the pretty new polish coming out.  Sadly there was no tour guide to answer questions and Michelle and I couldn't get an appointment so I don't have much info on any of this stuff.  Aside from what I have pictures of I saw a fantastic new collection coming out that I am very excited for!  That was embargoed and I wasn't allowed to take pictures of it though.

The Venice Collection is the Fall/Winter collection and it's already been shared on some bloggers pages.  I believe it's already in beauty supply stores too!  These are really lovely cremes and a couple metallic-shimmers.

OPI also has the upcoming Starlight collection, which is their holiday collection.  I will admit that it's refreshing to see a non-music lady collection for the holidays.  And this collection looks really exciting!  I love the colors and the finishes.  There are some shimmers, glitters, what looks like textures.  And I always love silver during the holidays!  Also, is that blue (Give Me Space) a scattered holo?!

There will be plenty of gift sets available from the Starlight line up.  OPI always does a great job putting together gift packs and sets.  Yes, that stunning necklace is one of them too!

OPI will also be releasing some new Infinite Shine collections and here's one of them!  I love these colors, they are very Spring-y.  I haven't tried the Infinite Shine polish yet but they look really amazing.

Moving on, We stopped at the Essie booth!  Most of what we saw here was hush-hush and no pictures were allowed.  But I hadn't yet heard of the Silk Watercolor collection!  So I got to see a little about that and how it works.  My understanding, during the tour, is that the Silk Watercolor collection are "Pro Colors" and are only available in salons.  They should b out now and you can get your next mani/pedi done with them!  There is a mini kit that might be available for retail.  They work much like the predecessors: OPI Sheer Tints or NfuOh Jelly Syrups...a sheer wash of color that is buildable.    There's a white polish put out with the collection to wear as a base for art, but you can really layer these over any color - think gold, silver, etc.  There were a few nail techs on site and they were playing around with the Silk Watercolors to show how they worked.  I was given a bottle of the yellow to try out and I will share that with you soon!

We also stopped by Orly.  There was some really cool stuff here!   The first thing I saw was the display of the new Epix collection.  It's called "flexible color."  You get the benefit of a gel but in a regular polish.  There are 36 colors to chose from.  You basically paint 2 coats of color and then a layer of the seal coat.  They last for over a week.  The really cool thing about Epix is the smudge fixing technology.  This polish literally fixes itself if you smudge or nick it!  It was explained as "shock absorbing polymers" that are at work here.  You can removed Epix with regular polish remover.  This line is available at Sallys, Ulta and other beauty supply stores.  I want to see this in action so I will totally be purchasing a bottle to try out.

CosmoProf 2015: Orly

CosmoProf 2015: Orly

Orly is also releasing In The Mix, it's Fall collection.  Hello beautiful creme colors!  And that glitter?!  Come to mama!  This collection is available online and should be hitting beauty supply shelves soon!

Orly came out with an awesome peel off base coat called One Night Stand.  I have yet to try a peel off base coat so I was very excited to receive a bottle to take home.  I have already used it and guess what...it's totally awesome!  I have pictures ready to share with you and will have that post up soon.

CosmoProf 2015: Orly

And the last thing I have to share this morning is the BB Creme - for your nails!  It really is foundation/makeup for nails!  It's meant to help color current any problems you many be having and has a natural finish.  You can pick this up at Orly.com.
