OPI: The Neon Collection (partial), Summer 2019

Yeah yeah it's the weekend!  I'm attending my little brothers wedding shower today - it's a couples/family event so lots of people and kids will be there to enjoy the BBQ and festivities.  I can't believe my baby bro is getting hitched!  It's a great day for a BBQ too, it's been super hot here this last week.  I'd say it calls for some neon nails!  I did a little post of a few of the OPI Neon Collection I picked up a while ago.  These are still in stores so if you love them to go pick them up!  They run about $10 a bottle.  Apparently they released a shoe collaboration with Converse and the shoes re adores!  I'm going to see if I can still get them.  While I do some online shopping you should check out my swatches!

Morgan Taylor + Preen.me; Rocketman Collection, Summer 2019

Happy Friday y'all.  I thought I'd turned a corner with all the ailments I've dealt with in the last week but nooooo.  Now I'm sick with cold.  This mama just can't catch a break.  Next week.  Next week is gonna be MY week!  Well, Summer feels just about over.  Yes it's still hot but all the fun vacation time and lounging about and sleeping in is gone.  So I think it's time I shared the last few Summer polishes that I have on hand.  Let's start with the Morgan Taylor Rocketman collection.  Inspired by Elton John, this is a 7 piece collection and is packed full of vibrant, loud colors that draw inspiration from the Elton John movie which is also called Rocketman! I won this set from Preen.me, a community site that gives feedback on beauty brands.  I really like the tutorials on the site.  Go give them a follow and maybe you could win a beautiful nail polish collection like this one.  Let's jump in and check out the post.

Fit Snack Box: July 2019

Evening!  Guys I have to tell you, this post is behind schedule.  I got sick and have been doing little to nothing for the last week.  It all started with a case of mastitis, which led to awful heartburn and nausea from the antibiotics (which I am still taking), and to round it all out a night of food poisoning. I'm a bit of a train wreck over here but I'm still plugging along.  So tonight I have the July Fit Snack box to share.  Great news is there were some delicious items in the box.  Bad news is that the box isn't available now.  But you will be able to get the August box soon!  If you haven't tried a box yet you can order a one time, 3 month, 6 month, etc... Save 30% off your first box using my link HERE.  Ok, let's get in there and hear about some tasty snacks.

786 Cosmetics; Jakarta, Isfahan & Pretoria

Sigh.  I'm sitting over here equally looking forward to and dreading tomorrow.  First day back to school.  I am happy to get some quiet time, but I will miss having the kids at home to hang out with.  I'm also not looking forward to early wake up times.  Even though they do drive me a bit nuts, they are good company and we have plenty of good times together.  I am nervous because 2/3 are starting a new school.  I hope they find people to sit with for lunch, find people to talk to in class, play with on the playground.  I know they will be find and I am just being a worrisome Mama Bear.  I'm currently prepping the requested luncheon menu for next week - musubi.  I am not sure how long they will last but at least they don't take too much work to prepare.  While I wait for the spam to marinate in the sauce I figured I'd share my latest swatches.  These hail from 786 Cosmetics.  I have reviewed this brand before and I am impressed with their formula, color line up and message - being inclusive to all cultures and celebrating all beauty.  786 Cosmetics makes nail polish that is vegan, breathable and halal friendly. You can see my previous post HERE.  Tonights post features 3 gorgeous purples; Jakarta, Isfahan and Pretoria. You can pick them all up now for $12.95.

Lollipop Posse Lacquer; IEC 2019 LE Shades - The Best of the Best & The Worst of the Worst

Morning again!  Hope your Friday is running smoothly!  We had some school things to take care of yesterday but today we have 100% nothing to do.  Well I have nothing to do, but my son, who is in Advanced Math, hasn't finished his Summer math homework and only has 5 days of Summer left.  So you know that means we are sitting at home, he gets no mouse, no phone, no tv remote until he finishes it up.  I swear that kid is such a procrastinator.  Other than that I am happy to show you some polishes that will be at the Indie Expo Canada next weekend.  These are both from Lollipop Posse and are Limited Edition.  Whatever doesn't sell at the event will be up for grabs on the website at some point after.  The Best of the Best and The Worst of the Worst will be $13 CAD each.  And if you are thinking of making the trek to Toronto, the IEC is on 8/18 and you can still get tickets HERE.  Until then, keep your fingers crossed for an over-pour/extras announcement from Karen!

Alter Ego; Proud To Be Me Collection, IEC August 2019

Did any of you watch the new 90210?  I was a huge fan back when I was a kid, hell, I still watch the reruns when I'm home hanging out on the couch.  I enjoyed the show, all the jabs at themselves.  Can't wait to see how the show develops.  Did you know they are filming it in Canada?  Do you know what else is happening in Canada...The Indie Expo Canada! This is the awesome indie event hosted by Pam from Girly Bits.  If you have the opportunity to attend I highly suggest you do!  It's so fun to peruse the tables in person, to meet the makers and to get some great deals.  The IEC is on 8/18 in Toronto.  Looks like you can still get tickets HERE.

Today I have some pretty shades from Alter Ego that will launch at the IEC.  These 4 polishes make up the Proud To Be Me collection.  In a world full of negativity it's nice to have little things that help you remember the positive.  Cynthia's collection is full of positive vibes and acceptance. The Proud To Be Me collection will be available online sometime after the IEC and they will be $10.  Of course you will be able to save 20% with my code My Nail Polish Obsession.

Lollipop Posse; Hella Handmade Creations, August 2019 - I Make Things Want Things

Good day to you.  And happy middle of the week.  Still on the back to school countdown.  1 week to go and Dobby is FREEEEEEE!  I think I am more nervous than excited this year because 2 of my kids are starting a new school.  I know they'll be fine though.  I changed schools a few times as a kid and my husband did a lot.  I mean A LOT.  And he was totally fine too.  Just my being a mom, hoping they make friends, have someone to sit with at lunch. So anyways, that's what I'm thinking about lately.
Let's talk polish though!  The HHC opens up soon and I have a stunning polish from Lollipop Posse to share with you.  This month Karen brings us I Make Things Want Things, inspired by Neil Gaiman's Sandman graphic novels.  I don't know much about Sandman, but I know Neil Gaiman has been hot on the Fandom scene lately. I also know this polish is a hands down stunna!  You can purchase I Make Things Want Things from 8/14 - 8/21.  It will be $13, no cap.

The Makers Dozen, August 2019: Alter Ego - Magenta Mystery Snail

Good morning!  Guys, I am literally waiting bated breath, trying to keep my sanity together as the end of Summer comes up.  My kids aren't getting with the regularly scheduled program of hitting the sack early, falling in to the standard routines.  And they are going berserk, like how some kids get even more wild when they are exhausted at the end of the night instead of just falling asleep.  I think I need the routine also.  I am staying up entirely too late every night, eating horribly and not working out. So while I ride out the remnants of this storm I figured I'd try to blog for a little "serenity now" moment.

Makers Dozen is back again, the August theme is Tropical Marine Life!  And like past months, colors are assigned to the makers.  Alter Ego got magenta and she drew inspiration from the magenta mystery snail - this is really a thing.  You can pick up your bottle of Magenta Mystery Snail through the month of August OR until the 40 bottle limit is reached.  It is $10 and you can save 20% using my code My Nail Polish Obsession.  Let's jump in to the post and learn a little more about this polish.

August 2019 Polish Pickup: At the Carnival

Good afternoon!  I'm just getting back to regular after a vacation with the family.  Vacations are so fun, but the packing and traveling is so tiresome.  Especially when I have to pack myself and 4 kids.  That's why it's nice to take day trips to close by events like festivals and carnivals.  Speaking of carnivals, that is the theme for August, At the Carnival and it's open 8/2 - 8/5.  If you haven't browesd the albums in the Facebook group yet you should totally do so and the site is open so get over there and make your wishlist!  There are loads of amazing shades coming out. Let's jump in and I'll show you what I was lucky enough to review.
