Stella Chroma: October Trio, 2019

Hullo, hullo!  Monday, you weren't so bad!  I got to the gym for a weight lifting sesh with friends and then even ran a few miles on the treadmill.  Polishing off the rest of the birthday cake in my house pretty much negated any good I did earlier, oh well, it's a step in the right direction!

I have a beautiful trio to share with you this evening, the Stella Chroma October Trio.  These pink beauties are different shades and finishes, so truly something for everyone here.  Pam will be donating a portion of the sales to her local hospital to help pay for mammograms for women who don't have health insurance.  These are not LE, but only the sales in October will go towards the donation.  You can pick these up for $12-$13 each or $33 for the trio (only until 10/11).  Let's jump in and see what the October Trio is all about!

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving!  Starting my morning off with a family outing to the Turkey Trot.  We've done this a few times together and it's a really fun to get the day going.  We'll all be walking it together but it will be a much needed 3 mile walk after being cooped up for the last 2 weeks with the poor air quality.  So today I am thankful for better air quality, a roof over my head, food on my table, supportive friends and family, our health AND my new little boy!  What are you thankful for?

I'm squeezing in a quick post to help you be better prepared for Black Friday sales.  Stella Chroma will have 3 brand new collections for sale on Friday and new Hand & Body care products (check out my post HERE).  My post is only of the 2018 Limited Edition Holiday set.  It will be available through the end of the 2018.  Rose til Champagne and Merlot Ho Ho! will both be available 11/23 at noon EST and all retail for $13 each or $24 for the set.  Don't forget to use my code MNPO for  15% discount!

Nail Hoot/Top Shelf Lacquer Duo; Hoot This Way & Drunk and Disorderly

Evening dolls!  I've tried to stay inside as much as possible this hot weekend.  Every time I went outside I felt like I was going to spontaneously combust.  But on the plus side my tan is off the hook! I just got home from soccer, my family wants to go out to Red Lobster because of the all you can eat crab...it's for a limited time you know.  Ha!  My 11 year old has been telling us about it all day.  So before we do that I figured I'd drop this fabulous new duo of you to oogle over.  I've tried polishes form both brands in the past and am always impressed...this duo really shows off how great both brands are!  The back story to the duo is a joke.  Brandie had a naming contest in her group and Amy suggested Hoot This Way.  Amy submitted that name for every contest Brandie had for a polish name.  Brandie FINALLY gave in and told Amy if she'd let her name a polish Drunk and Disorderly, she'd name a polish Hoot This Way.  And there we have the creation of this beautiful duo!  The duo is already available on the Nail Hoot website and the price is $18 plus shipping.  So let's jump in to the post and then you can mosey on over to shop!

Morning beauties!  It's a frost kind of a morning here.  Actually it started last night when I went outside looking for my daughters tennis shoe and my assumption that Rocky (our puppy) grabbed it and took it in the backyard was correct.  Well the show was covered in a fine layer of icy frost.  It was 35 degrees last night and it's 33 right now!  Definitely too cold for my California blood.  I'm warming up with a cup of coffee and breakfast.  And I'm here to share a Girly Bits Post with you!  These are the December CoTM Duo and they're amazing!  I swear Pam outdoes herself every month!  You might be thinking HEY!  Your post is late, but it's not because this month is different!  The polishes are available all December long!  But wait there's more...they'll be available at the promo price all month long too, YAY!  The December CoTM Duo is $23.26 or $12.38 each.  But if you want then you should order by 12/20 because while the shop will be open shipping won't resume until 1/4/17.   Ok, let's jump in!

JORD Wood Watch, Cora Series - Koa & Rose Gold

Good evening!  I have a different post for you tonight, and I'm very excited about it!  I was recently approached by JORD, a company that makes gorgeous wood watches, to review a watch for them!  I know a watch has nothing to do with nail polish, but as I (infrequently) feature makeup, jewelry and skin care products on my blog I felt it wasn't that big of a stretch to share a watch with you too so I happily accepted.  Let me fill you in on JORD.  JORD is a company run by artists who that create watches modeled after a modern lifestyle.  A variety of wood from all over the world is used to created these unique timepieces; Ebony (Africa), Koa (Hawaii), Rosewood (Brazil), Maple (America), etc.  The face of the watches are made of Sapphire Glass, a synthetic crystal that is colorless and optically clear.  It's very high quality and second only to diamonds for its hardness and scratch resistance.  There is a wide range of watches on the JORD site, both in men's and women's styles.  I also feel that for an artisan time-piece, the watches are very affordable - plus JORD offers free shipping worldwide!  The Cora Koa and Rose Gold watch is available online now for $275 USD.  Now that you know a little about JORD let's check out some pictures and my thoughts on the watch I was sent!

JORD Wooden Watch: Shop, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest

I selected one of the newer watched to the JORD family, the Cora Koa and Rose Gold style.  I am a huge fan of rose gold and feel it's one of those colors that is trans-seasonal so this watch will be easy to accessorize with my upcoming Fall and Winter outfits.  My Cora Koa showed up in a this pretty wooden box with the JORD J etched on to the lid.

The lid slides off to reveal this tiny herringbone fabric pillow and the Cora Koa and Rose Gold watch.

There is also a membership card, a cloth to clean the face of the watch and extra links if I ever need to have my watch resized.  When you select your watch you can download a sizing tool to determine the length that would be most comfortable of your.  It's very easy and also a nice touch to have a watch customized so specifically to your own wrist size.

I wanted to make sure to show you all the features of the watch.  Look at how intricate and interesting the back of the time piece is.  I love that it's not covered up so you can see the gears working.

Here's the clasp.  Both wooden ends close in towards each other and click closed.  The links are flush with the rest of the watch when the buckle is closed.

I took a few pictures wearing the watch so you could see the size and the thickness of the face of the watch.  I have a very thin wrist and the JORD Cora Koa and Rose Gold watch was very comfortable to wear.  I didn't have any problems moving my wrist around or bending my hand in any direction.  This watch was unbelievably light weight too!  When I am wearing it I forget that I have it on.   Can you see that little circle window that peeks in to the gears of the watch?  How cool is that?

And just because my blog is primarily a nail blog, I had to do some nail pics with the Cora Koa and Rose Gold watch!  I wanted to create nails that reflected the beautiful face of the watch - emulating the rose gold color and Swaowski crystal accents so I picked out Orly Rage, a metallic rose gold polish and brushed on loose silver glitter at the tops.  The Cora Koa is causal elegance at it's best and it fits my mom uniform lifestyle so perfectly!

Summer of Untrieds day 25: Zoya

Good afternoon dears!  I'm starting feel the pressure to finish up with untried challenge as my "to swatch" pile is growing and growing.  But I'm keeping at it and will (hopefully) finish strong!  I mean there are only 6 days left, I can do this!  The theme for Day 25 of the Summer of Untrieds challenge is the ever awesome Zoya!  I don't have too many Zoyas that are sitting in my untried stash but I did find this one that seemed perfect for hot summer days that are starting to dqindle down a bit as we get closer to school starting up again in August.  You can participate in the last few days by posting your picture to Facebook or Instagram with #summerofuntrieds, #julyuntriechallenge and #wishesofablueeyedgirl Let's see the pictures shall we?

Tinsley is from the Irresistible collection, last year's summer set.  Tinsley is described as a"full coverage, rose gold foil metallic."  In the shade Tinsley definitely has the rose gold look, but in the sun it's much more pink with a heavy dose of sparkly gold flakies.  Formula and application were both wonderful.  I used 3 coat of Tinsley and 1 layer of topcoat.

a-England She Walks In Beauty

I feel that I rarely show one polish at a time anymore so here is a post highlighting a gorgeous polish, a-England She Walks In Beauty.  SWIB is from the Heavenly Quotes collection.  Here is Adina's description for SWIB: An intricate and complex mix of large and small rose-colored hexagonal glitter in a shimmering pale golden base that colour-shifts with lights and movement.  IIt's an absolutely stunning color!  I love how it looked different in the sunlight, the shade and indoors.  There was a foily-metallic finish to SWIB in direct light, but in indirect light the rose colored glitters really became the star of the show!  I used 3 coats of SWIB for full coverage and 1 layer of topcoat, though still had some texture on my nails.  I would suggest you use 2 layers of topcoat, or a layer of Gelous for completely smooth nails.

Once the Royal Mail issues are figured out you will be able to purchase a-England directly from their website.  You can also purchase a-England from Ninja Polish, Overall Beauty, Llarowe and Mei Mei's Signatures.  You can follow a-England on Facebook as well.

Make sure to follow me on Facebook too!
