Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer October Polish Pick Up Exclusive: Not Winding You Up

Good morning lovelies!  It's almost time for the October Polish Pickup.  I hope you've kept track and made a list of the ones you want!  Before you finalize that list let me throw this awesome BEGL into the ring.  It's called Not Winding You Up and it's inspired by the Clockwork Repair Droids in Doctor Who.  I have never seen a single episode of this show but I know it's pretty popular amongst nail polish fans so I think this polish shade will be a hit!  If you've been pouring over the PPU posts you'll know that this month's selections will be available from 10/6-10/9.  Not Winding You Up will be $12.  Alright, let's jump in and see pictures!

Alter Ego October Polish Pick Up Exclusive: Greta Gremlin

Morning.  More October Polish Pickup time!  We're getting close and I am excited!  Halloween is my favorite and from what I have seen, there are some really amazing polishes this month.  I know I have mentioned before, but the Polish Pickup is really awesome because it's "like" a subscription box in that it's available every month.  But it's not like a subscription box in that you get to pick exactly what you want to buy.  The October theme is Monsters and Mythical Creatures.  Alter Ego has a super unique polish available this month that was inspired by the movie Gremlins.  You can purchase Greta Gremlin from 10/6 - 10/9 for $7.  Ok, let's check it out!

Paint Box Polish Pygmy Puff & Fizzing Whizbees

Good afternoon dears!  It's a dreary day out here in NorCal.  The rain picked up again and it's windy enough to turn your umbrella inside out.  I've just finished lunch and need to rush out for some Christmas shopping before I pick up my boys from school.  Wish me luck to brave this weather!  But I wanted to keep my mojo going and get another post shared!  I have some beauties from Paint Box Polish for you to take a gander at.  You know I love my corals and oranges so it was only natural that I chose these two.  I see a couple others I am eager to try so hopefully in the near future I can pick those up and share them with you too!

Up first I have Fizzing Whizbees, inspired by candy at Honeydukes in the Harry Potter series.  It's an "orange crelly packed with small rainbow flakies."  I love this shade, it's so bright and happy.  And I totally want to eat a sherbet ball from Honeydukes now!  The formula and application of Fizzing Whizbees were were both fantastic.  I used 2 coats and 1 layer of topcoat for full coverage.

Next I have Pygmy Puff, inspired by a puffy friend sold at the Weasley's Wizard Wheezes in the Harry Potter series.  Pygmy Puff is a "shimmery, matte coral packed with gold flakies."  I love that this is such a gorgeous and unique matte polish!  The gold flakies stand out so well against the base color.  You can use topcoat for a super glossy and shimmery look.  The formula and application of Pygmy Puff were both wonderful.  I used 3 coats and 1 layer of topcoat.

Pahlish An Caisteal Ruadh

Good morning!  I am absolutely feeling in the Fall spirit.  I just can't get enough of these deep red, maroon and burgundy shades.  So I suspect you'll be seeing lots of them soon and for a while as I usually wear them all winter long.  So let's start off my total red infatuation with a post featuring a stunning Pahlish from the Royal Reverie Collection.  I'm not sure if Shannon is going to restock this one anymore but it's currently still listed on the site for $9 (but SOLD OUT).  Be sure to check on Friday at 5pm PDT when she restocks the shop.

An Caisteal Ruadh , which means "RedCastle in Scottish Gaelic" is an "oxblood red jelly with a mix of gold and silver flakes and copper shimmer."  It's inspired by the deep brick red colors of the castle.  The color, finish, shimmer, flakies...all complete perfection together.  The formula and application were both fantastic.  It covered superbly well for a jelly and I reached full coverage after 2 coats of An Caisteal Ruadh.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat to keep the glossy finish.

Summer of Untrieds Day 31: Foil/Chrome

WOW - I made it through the 31 day Summer of Untrieds challenge!  I am shocked!  But I feel like it was a pretty big accomplishment.  This July has been my highest number of posts in a month to date, so that's pretty awesome too.  This was definitely a fun challenge and I would absolutely do it again to help slash through my untried pile.  The final post in the untried challenge was for a foil/chrome polish and I had the perfect one up my sleeve!  Let's jump on in and check out this beauty from Emerald & Ash!

*PRESS SAMPLE*

Emerald & Ash: Shop, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter

This foily beauty is Hubble.  It's a pretty darn awesome silver foil, but it's got a little something extra to give some interest!  Hubble was created to "mimic the outer shell of the Hubble Space Telescope.  The polish is also filled with gold and black flakies, which represent the solar arrays and various sensors that cover the telescope."  The addition of the flakies really set Hubble apart from other silver foils and help give it a very space age look.  Hubble had a great formula that was a breeze to work with.  I got full coverage in 2 coats and I used a layer of topcoat to finish.

Summer of Untrieds day 25: Zoya

Good afternoon dears!  I'm starting feel the pressure to finish up with untried challenge as my "to swatch" pile is growing and growing.  But I'm keeping at it and will (hopefully) finish strong!  I mean there are only 6 days left, I can do this!  The theme for Day 25 of the Summer of Untrieds challenge is the ever awesome Zoya!  I don't have too many Zoyas that are sitting in my untried stash but I did find this one that seemed perfect for hot summer days that are starting to dqindle down a bit as we get closer to school starting up again in August.  You can participate in the last few days by posting your picture to Facebook or Instagram with #summerofuntrieds, #julyuntriechallenge and #wishesofablueeyedgirl Let's see the pictures shall we?

Tinsley is from the Irresistible collection, last year's summer set.  Tinsley is described as a"full coverage, rose gold foil metallic."  In the shade Tinsley definitely has the rose gold look, but in the sun it's much more pink with a heavy dose of sparkly gold flakies.  Formula and application were both wonderful.  I used 3 coat of Tinsley and 1 layer of topcoat.

Philly Loves Lacquer I Love You A Lime (April Dazzled Holo Grail Box)

Good morning all!  Long time no post.  I have actually been wearing polish for me lately and it's been nice to not hustle about taking pictures, watermarking, cropping and getting them on here.  I guess it was a mental break week.  Well I couldn't not share this with you because it's so gorgeous!  It's my first time trying Philly Loves Lacquer and paint me impressed!  I was lucky to pick this unique beauty up individually from someone selling it!  It's actually from the Dazzled April Holo Grail Box.  Let me just say that bottle pictures I've seen do this NO justice!  It is refreshing and unique and gorgeous!  So let's jump in and check out I Love You A Lime!

Philly Loves Lacquer: Shop, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter

Here it is!  I Love You A Lime!  It's a fabulous pastel sea foam green polish that is so much more!  It has a very soft scattered holo, holo shimmer, fine gold shimmer and tiny gold flakies that add so much interest and depth to the polish.  These three elements work together and create such a great effect in the polish, and against the base color it's like sea foamy, beachy awesomeness.  The formula and application were both lovely.  I used 3 coats of I Love You A Lime for full coverage and color payoff.  I then finished with 1 layer of topcoat - which didn't diminish any of the holo effect at all.

So what do you think?  I think I am in love with a new brand and look forward to trying more!
