Halloween Nail Art using Sally Hansen Halloween and NYC New York Color Hallween 2014

Good morning!  I'm back with some nail art!  Yesterday I shared a couple posts, Sally Hansen Halloween and NYC New York Color Midnight Beauty, they are all such perfect colors how could I not use them all together to create some fun Halloween nails?  So that's just what I did.  Let's go ahead and jump in to see!

The first look I went for was a classic black and white themed mummy mani.  I used Sally Hansen Scaredy MatteOMGhost and NYC New York Color Rock Muse Smoky Topcoat to create this look.  I love how these all worked together.  I feel like my nails are in a black and white horror flick.  I used topcoat on all but my index nail.

The second look I created is fun, happy little pumpkin mani!  I used Sally Hansen Pumpkin QueenOMGhostScaredy Matte and Fuzzy Coat Fur-ankenstein to create this look.  I'm happy with how my pumpkin turned out, he's so cheerful!  Of course I love the Fuzzy Coat nail too, being the bar glitter fan that I am.  I used topcoat on all nails.

NYC New York Color Midnight Beauty Collection 2014 (partial review)

Good morning!  I've got some Halloween polish to share with you today!  Grab your coffee and have a seat while we check out some of the new NYC New York Color Midnight Beauty Collection.  This is a limited edition collection, full of shimmer, creme and a very interesting "smoky topcoat."  The polish in this set of beauty products (there are also eyeshadow quads, lipsticks, eyeliner and mascara) are $1.99 each - such a great price for a good quality lacquer!  So let's jump in and take a look!

I started with Rock Muse Smoky Topcoat.  This is a sheer grey/black base with silver metallic glitters.  It's meant to be worn over other colors to give a dark, smoky look.  I like the idea of this polish but found it a bit hard to work with.  Smoky Topcoat would be great if I could have gotten even coverage in 1 coat, but it was streaky and uneven.  So I added a 2nd coat and it ended up looking looking darker than I thought it should.  I used 2 coats of Smoky Topcoat over Sally Hansen OMGhost and Pumpkin Queen.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

The other shade I have to share is Animal Instinct.  This is a soft orange-peach shade full of subtle golden-pink shimmer.  Animal Instinct had a great formula and applied perfectly.  It was creamy and opaque and such a fantastic color!  It's very Fall yet not because of the softer hue.  I used 2 coats of Animal Instinct for full coverage and 1 layer of topcoat.

NYC New York Color Crystal Couture: Blue Majesty, Queen's Jewels & Rule the City

Good afternoon dearies!  Are you ready for some bling?  I mean some seriously serious bling?  I am! So let's talk about the NYC New York Colors Fall 2014 Limited Edition Fashion Queen Collection.  The collection consists of 6 glitters, called Crystal Couture.  It also has a creme and 2 shimmers from the In a New York Minute formula.  I love that this brand is easily available at local drug and super stores AND that they are only $1.99!   Let me say that I was very impressed with the formula of all 3 of these shades, they were all easy to use and had great coverage.  They are more than worth their affordable price!  I have 3 of the Crystal Couture glitters to share so let's jump in and check them out!

The first one I have to share is Blue Majesty.  This is a beautiful blue based jelly full of blue and green metallic glitters.  Blue Majesty had a great formula that was easy to work with.  The glitter payoff was great, so much glitter!  I reached full coverage in 3 coats (you could easily do 2 but I always err on the side of more is better than less).  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat for a perfectly glossy and smooth to the touch look.  *my pictures are showing Blue Majesty as a bit darker than it actually is.

Queen's Jewels is a stunning shade of emerald green.  It's a green jelly base full of green glitters.  GAH it's so pretty!  Such a perfect jewel tone for the Fall.  Queen's Jewels had a fabulous formula, it built up very nicely.  The glitters came out easily and in abundance.  I used 3 coats of Queen's Jewels and 1 layer of topcoat for a shiny finish.

I saved my favorite for last...Rule the City.  This is an amazing gunmetal shimmer base with red glitters.  WOW, what a combination!  It's glamorous yet perfect for every day.  Again, perfect formula and application here.  Plenty of glitter came out and it's dispersed evenly in the base.  I used 2 coats of Rule the City and 2 layer of topcoat.
