Bohemian Polish The Moste Potente Potions Collection

Good afternoon!  I'm happy for today, I got my hair did!  I had it lightened for the Summer, something I never do, but I was sick and tired of seeing blonde hair on my head.  So I had it darkened.  YAY!  Yay for Fall hair!  So I've been pretty swamped this week and I tried my hardest to set aside time to get this posted yesterday but it didn't happen.  That's ok though because the collection is fully stocked and ready for you!  This is Bohemian Polish the Most Potente Potions collection.  It's inspired by spells and potions from Harry Potter and they are all super awesome!  I really enjoyed each polish, they all had a little special something to them that made them unique.  While I loved the polish, my favorite thing was the Butterbeer cuticle oil!  I'll get into details for all of these items in a few, and you'll want to hear them!  Jennifer put great detail into making this collection totally awesome and their descriptions make you want to sit down with one of the books or watch one of the movies!  You can currently pick up the entire 7 piece Moste Potente Potions collection including the Butterbeer cuticle oil for $55!  Great deal!  Or you can purchase them individually for $9 each, and the cuticle oil is $4.25.  You can use the code WANDCORE for 20% off your entire order!  Now that you have all the purchasing info let's check out some wizard inspired polish!

Let's start with Don't Mind The Steam.  This is a "magenta holographic polish with golden shimmer. Like Pepperup Potion, this bold polish will have you feeling fabulous in no time."  The base color for Don't Mind The Steam is stunning, but that pop of gold shimmer?  Holy moly!  Beautiful!  The formula and application were both lovely.  Creamy and opaque and I only needed 2 coats for full coverage.  I finished with a layer of Bohemian Polish Flash Dry quick dry topcoat.

Love Potion No 9 3/4 is a "bubblegum pink holographic polish with iridescent flakes.  Made with Amortentia in mind, this polish will make you fall under its spell."  I love the bubblegum color and the iridescent flakies.  They are hard to see in my pictures but more prominent in real life.  The formula was sheer on the first coat.  I found that the flakies made the polish seem lumpy upon application but they settled in to the polish nicely and laid flush with the nail.  I used 3 coats to even the polish out.  Love Potion No 9 3/4 dried slightly dull so I recommend you use topcoat for a glossy finish.

Get Lucky is a beautiful "warm golden-orange holographic polish with warm gold glitter. Like Felix Felicia, you can do no wrong with this polish!"  This was one of my favorites in the collection!  I loved the butterscotch-y color and the finish.  It's unique and an unexpected color for this season.  Get Lucky was fairly sheer but it built up well in 3 coats.  I fishiness with a layer of Flash Dry topcoat.

Steal Your Face is a "green holographic polish with green-to-red color shifting shimmer.  Unlike Polyjuice Potion, you won't have to drink this polish to get the full shifty effect!"  I enjoyed the metallic holo finish of this polish.  It's unique to the collection and is a really lovely color.  Steal Your Face is also the only one from the collection that gave me a few problems upon application.  The formula was thin and I found that if you didn't let each coat dry completely you would get drag marks at the top of my nails.  Once I figured that out everything was aces!  I used 3 coats of Steal Your Face and finished with a layer of Flash Dry topcoat.

Furry Little Problem Solver is inspired by Wolfsbane Potion and is a "bright blue holographic polish with iridescent flakes."  I like the vibrant hue of blue and that it's not a neon (can you tell I am over neon?).  I found the formula of Furry Little Problem Solver a bit on the thin side.  It was also pretty sheer on the first coat but it built up well in 3 coats.  I finished with a coat of Flash Dry topcoat.

See No Dreams is inspired by the Dreamless Sleep potion so You Know Who can't find you and is a gorgeous "soft purple holo with purple to blue color shifting glitter." So the big surprise here is that See No Dreams is my favorite of the collection!  I was totally goo-goo over the color shifting glitters and the shade of purple, which is weird for me since I am not one of those that needs to own all the purple polish.  The formula was wonderful - not too thick or thin, super easy to apply.  The coverage was really lovely too.  I used 2 coats of See No Dreams and a layer of Flash Dry topcoat.

Last but not least is Half-Life.  This one isn't inspired by a potion, but by cursed unicorn blood!  One drink will curse you!  Half-Life is a "silver linear holographic polish with a metallic finish."  Formula and application were both great.  I would only mention to let each layer dry completely or you could pull the polish and end up with bald patches near your cuticles.  I used 2 coats of Half-Life for full coverage and finished with Flash Dry topcoat.

I also received Flash Dry topcoat.  I was really impressed with it too!  I found it to be a medium consistency, not too thin or thick.  Flash Dry added a nice glossy finish and smoothness to my freshly painted nails.  I wore Half-Life with Flash Dry on top for a couple days and had no chip or nail wear at all.  I'd estimate that Flash Dry is completely dry somewhere between 5 to 8 minutes.

I wanted to show how glossy Flash Dry is so I put it on my naked nails.  I love how clean they look but with a noticeable shine.

And then there was Butterbeer cuticle oil.  OH MAH GAH I love the scent so much!  It's so sweet and creamy and warm and butterscotchy.  It totally reminds me of the way Butterbeer at Universal Studios tasted - delicious!  I don't think the scent lasts nearly long enough though, within 15 minutes I can barely smell it anymore.  I guess that means it's time to re-apply!  The oil blend was pretty good.  It seemed to take a little while to sink into my skin but it wasn't a clock watching length of  time.  The only thing I would bring up is that the plastic rollerball style makes it hard for the oil to come out freely.  I had to roll back and forth quite a bit to get a substantial amount out on my fingers.

KBShimmer Fall 2015

Good morning friends!  Happy day happy day!  September 1st and I'm officially bringing out the Fall polish.  That also means Halloween polish, my most favorite kind of polish around.  So the post for today is the majority of the brand new KBShimmer Fall 2015 collection.  This is a great mixture of Fall colors, finishes, and a few nods to Halloween so it's aces in my book!  The Fall collection will be available to purchase on 9/15 and they will range from $7.50 to $10.50 USD each.  Now let's jump in and check out swatches!

Let's start off with one of my favorites, Be Scareful.  This polish consists of mixture of orange and black glitters in a variety of shapes in an almost pure white crelly base.  I haven't seen a Halloween crelly quite like this and I really enjoyed it.  The formula was really great, application was nice and easy and Be Scareful built up perfectly in 3 coats.  I used 1 layer of topcoat.

Surprise!  Be Scareful glows in the dark!  It's pretty darn bright too!  I love that you can see the star glitter so vividly though the glow.  I achieved this with only a short charge from a flashlight.  Perfect polish for Trick-or-Treating on Halloween night!

Here we have Open Toad Shoes.  This is a very interesting polish, it's a unique color and glitter mix.  It's described as a "soft olive green crelly, with pops of navy, burgundy, and chartreuse glitters and holographic shimmer."  I am certain I have no polish like this in my collection.  I have a feeling you are either going outlive or hate this one, but it's another perfect for Fall and Halloween shade - toadally reminds me of a frog (haha you see what I did there?).  The formula of Open Toad Shoes was a bit sheer with the first coat but it built up really nicely in 3 coats.  I finished with a layer of topcoat.

Moving along, this is I Feel Gord-geous.  It's a sister polish to Sun & Games and Alloy Matey, but i's a "coppery champagne color."  Yup, love this color!  It's softer, warmer, totally works for the change in season!  And it's so sparkly!  The formula and application were both fabulous.  I used 3 coats of I Feel Gord-geous and a layer of topcoat.

I've Seen Sweater Days (cute name) is a nice "muted teal crelly" with "pops of cobalt blue, lime green holo and silver glitters."  I like the softness of the color and that the glitters really stand out.  It's nice to have pastel to go with other Fall shades, and I just read in a fashion magazine that pastel is going to be a trend this season!  I've Seen Sweater Days was a bit sheer but it did build up well in 3 coats.  I finished with a layer of topcoat.

Talk Qwerty To Me is a shimmery teal with blue and gold micro flakes.  Such a pretty color and very sparkly!  I really like the finish of this one too - the micro flakes are pretty perfect and I want to see more colors with this finish!  Talk Qwerty To Me had a nice formula and applied easily.  I used 3 coats for full coverage and a layer of topcoat.

You knew there were going to be some kick-@ss cremes in here and Such A Vlad-Ass is gorgeous!  This is a deepened blood red creme with a blue undertone.  Ok so it's totally possible I may have selected this one for the name alone, but I am also a total sucker (haha pun intended) for red polish.  Such A Vlad-Ass is all that and a bag of chips people!  Formula - awesome.  Application - awesome. Get it, that's all you need to know.  I used 2 coats for perfect coverage and no topcoat.

The other creme I have to share is Soul Deep, a "blackened blurple" creme."  So dark, so broody, so beautiful.  I don't think the two cremes I reviewed could be any more awesome if they tried!  Formula and application of Soul Deep were both fantastic.  Soul Deep was so creamy and opaque.  I used 2 coats for full coverage and no topcoat.

Now you know this is going to be one of my favorites.  Fig-Get About It is a "darkened fig color burgundy" linear holo.  This is one of those colors that I will want to wear ALL THE TIME.  It's dark, but not too dark.  It's a little vampy.  And then it's holo.  Lot's of win!  The formula confused me  a bit - I'd say it was a jelly-like consistency, but it was very sheer with the first coat.  Then with the second coat it was full coverage and awesome!  So there you have it.  2 coats of Fig-Get About It and no topcoat.

Last but not least is Dark & Twisty.  I can't help but think of Twisty the clown from American Horror Story Freak Show - scariest clown I've seen since Pennywise.  But this "Twisty" isn't scary at all.  It's actually quite lovely.  Dark & Twisty is a black jelly polish full of metallic rainbow glitters.  The formula and application were both great!  I really like full coverage jellies and this one was stellar.  I used 3 coats of Dark & Twisty and finished up with a layer of topcoat.
