Fit Snack Box: July 2019

Evening!  Guys I have to tell you, this post is behind schedule.  I got sick and have been doing little to nothing for the last week.  It all started with a case of mastitis, which led to awful heartburn and nausea from the antibiotics (which I am still taking), and to round it all out a night of food poisoning. I'm a bit of a train wreck over here but I'm still plugging along.  So tonight I have the July Fit Snack box to share.  Great news is there were some delicious items in the box.  Bad news is that the box isn't available now.  But you will be able to get the August box soon!  If you haven't tried a box yet you can order a one time, 3 month, 6 month, etc... Save 30% off your first box using my link HERE.  Ok, let's get in there and hear about some tasty snacks.

Fit Snack Box: WebsiteFacebookInstagramTwitter

This is Supernola from Evolve Snacking.  A mixture of superfoods, seeds, nuts and spices.  These are gluten free, plant based and, dairy and grain free and work with a paleo diet.  I got the Dragonfruit Lemon Zest flavor.  They remind me of little granola bites but no granola.  I liked the sweet but lemon flavor and the slightly chewy/cunchy texture from the nuts and seeds.  There are other flavors available on the website - the Triple Berry Vanilla looks particularly enticing!

The MCT Bar is my favorite item in the box this month.  It's cocoa flavor and tastes almost like eating a hot chocolate drink.  I will admit I have been looking in to adding mct oil to my diet but I need to learn more about it.  This bar is 10g of protein, 5g of MCT oil and all around delicious.  I did find the bar to be a bit oily (not surprising) and the wrapper itself, even the outside was a bit oily.  It was a hot day and it had been in my mail box for a bit so that probably didn't help.  That wouldn't stop me from buying this product, just something I noticed.

Gorilly Goods hails from the same parent company as the Supernola bites, Evolve Snacking.  This is a trail mix type snack of loose ingredients blended together. I got Hillside, which is a blend of pumpkin seeds and kale.  It's a savory blend that I really enjoyed.  Plus I am a huge fan of pumpkin seeds.  This is a good way to get in some veggies (kale) - I think I prefer it crunchy like this.

Here's a brand you are familiar with.  Hippeas, chickpea puffs.  Sometimes I like these, sometimes I don't.  I got Bohemian Barbecue flavor and I was ok with it.  Didn't love or hate it.  BBQ flavor is never my top choice when it comes to any snacks.  They definitely had a smokey, bbq flavor.  The puffs are crisp and crunchy.  I am seeing these pop up in local grocery stores now too, even Target!!

Ooh yay, sunflower seeds! These are from Chinook Seedery and came in Parmesan & Pepper flavor. So fancy!  Seriously though, the days of play salt sunflower seeds are over!  Give me that bag of Hatch Chile seeds!  They were nicely flavored, I tasted the pepper over the parmesan.  The shells were easy to crack open and the seeds tasted great.  I will definitely get these when I see them in the stores!

Here's another familiar product!  Plotz Honey Nutters are delicious bites of nut and honey.  I love them, they are tasty and filling and help squash that sweet craving I always get.  I got Trail Blazer flavor this time and it's delicious.  I do think you have to enjoy the flavor of honey to like these snacks as that is the prominent flavor.  I love that these are made with simple and few ingredients.  I counted 7 on the list and nothing unnatural.

Have you tried Purely Inspired Organic Protein plant based shakes yet?  These have been in the Fit Snack boxes a few times now.  I got French Vanilla this time.  I haven't been a huge fan of the flavor of these as I find them to taste a bit too earthy. But I can appreciate how nice it is to have single serving packages for on the go use.

Bare Bones Bone Broth is a new one for me!  I have to admit that I have never tried bone broth and didn't know what to expect.  It definitely has a different flavor than regular broth.  Less salty. Somehow more filling.  It was actually the perfect thing to have around after food poisoning.  I was hungry but afraid to eat solid food.  In need of nourishment, this handy single serving packet only needed hot water and it was ready! You'll get 10g of protein and 5g of collagen in each single serving packet.

And of course a little peak at the training guide you'll get with your subscription box order!

  9. I just saw some of the BBQ Hippeas at my store and debated on picking them up. BBQ isn't usually my flavor of choice (although I have had chips in Carolina BBQ that were fantastic), but I may have to get these for my guys. On a different note, I hope you start feeling better soon. Mastitis is no joke, but to then have food poisoning is rough.
