Hillbilly Love Lacquer Buckshot

Sorry for having fallen off the radar for a bit.  My house was in some desperate need of TLC and I just couldn't take the mess any longer.  So now that it's clean I can expect my 3 little tornadoes to have it in disarray within mere hours.  Anywho - today I bring you Hillbilly Love Lacquer Buckshot.  I've enjoyed all the Hillbilly polishes but this was my favorite of the ones sent to me for review.

Buckshot is described as "A lovely dark vintage grey blue with fine and superfine copper glitter."  On the nose!  I found it intriguing how the base color of this polish was in fact grey but I could always see just a tinge of blue!  It is very lovely and unique.  The copper glitter really play well against the steel grey color and added a nice dimension to the polish as a whole.  Application was nice and easy and I had full coverage with 2 coats.  I used 1 layer of topcoat for a shiny finish.

I quite enjoyed Hillbilly Love Lacquer and look forward to what other polishes Alisa comes up with!  I recently saw an LE she posted on Facebook that was gorgeous!  So be sure to follow the Facebook page for product updates and specials like that!  Otherwise you can purchase Hillbilly Love Lacquer on etsy!  Happy shopping!

Hillbilly Love Lacquer Bluegrass

Good morning!  Today I'm happy to share another Hillbilly Love Lacquer with you.  This one is called Bluegrass.  Bluegrass is an electric blue tinted base filled with a mixture of different shades of blue glitter and a smattering of holo hexs.  It's a very pretty mixture of colors.  You can wear it alone, it would take 3-4 coats to build up the coverage though.  I chose to layer it over a base color and started this mani with 2 coats of Zoya Tallulah, a matching tone of blue.  I then used 2 coats of Bluegrass.  Bluegrass had a nice formula that was easy to work with. A good amount of glitter came out with each brush dip and it spread easily on the nail.  All the glitters lay flat.  1 layer of topcoat to finish it.  I really liked the way this mani came out - so vibrant and pretty.  It will make for a nice bright summer set with the electric hue and glowing shimmer.  And because I'm a product of my generation, this color reminds me of Debbie Gibson, don't ask why, it just does.

You can purchase Hillbilly Love Lacquer Bluegrass and other lovely polish creations in the etsy shop and can follow the Facebook page for product updates.

Hillbilly Love Lacquer Barefoot and Pregnant

I'm excited to share another new brand with you today!  Hillbilly Love Lacquer really is a new brand on the block having just opened up shop (on etsy) on February 9, 2013.   But Alisa, the creator behind Hillbilly, has been busy because she already has a shop full of fun colors.  I have a few to review for you but will start with Barefoot and Pregnant.

Barefoot and Pregnant it is a very sweet polish.  On the etsy listing Alisa describes it as, "a Sweet soft pink pearl with hints of white holographic glitter and medium matte pink glitter.  Sheer enough to layer over a darker color but worn by itself it's beautiful!"  She also recommends trying it for a fun and updated french mani!  I feel her description was perfect.  But I have to say what I liked best about this polish was the connotation behind it...is it not the most perfect baby girl pink polish for an expecting or new mom?  Or a cute gift for a baby shower?  I used 1 coat of B&P over 1 coat of Sinful Colors Cotton Candy.  I think the combination was perfect for a lovely pink mani!  B&P was easy to apply, there was no dragging or streaking.  The glitters came out easily and did not clump together.  Everything lay flat and smooth.  Because it's a pearly polish you are more likely to see brush strokes so I'd suggest painting slowly.  I used 1 layer of topcoat to finish it.

So what are your first impressions of Hillbilly Love Lacquer?  I see alot of potential in this company and like that she has glitter in colored bases.  The polish names are fun too!  You can purchase Hillbilly Love Lacquer on etsy and can follow the Facebook page for product updates.
