Tony Moly Banana Hand Milk & Banana Lip Balm (beauty review)

Good morning all!  I am sore and stiff and my hips are hating me.  I'm pretty happy that I don't have ANY plans today and I can lounge with my family.  How's your Saturday morning going?  I am going to be sharing polish with you later today or tomorrow (I'm finally almost caught up on all my drafts so I can delve into the pile of Fall polish I have that's growing and growing) but for now I want to share some adorable Tony Moly products with you!  Tony Moly literally has the cutest packaging I have ever seen and I will buy it even if I don't plan to use it.  I can't resist!  I first heard of Tony Moly because of their awesome Galaxy nail polish collection a few years back.  After that I started to notice that they made skin care and makeup products too.  Ooooh excited!  But they were hard to find and only from overseas as they are a Korean brand.  Rewind to the summer of 2013 when I was in Oahu for the first time in over 15 years.  HELLO there's a Tony Moly store there!  I met up with one of my nail polish friends and we did some serious damage!  I think about that shop all the time so I was a happy camper when I got to go back this past July.  And hello, what's this adorable little banana lip balm?  I had to have it!  When I returned to California I wished I'd bought more so I did a quick search on Amazon and thankfully Tony Moly is pretty much fully stocked there now so I got more!  #addictedtocuteproducts So the jist of my story is this: Tony Moly is fairly easy to find now!  It's in Urban Outfitters, Sephora and Amazon!  There are a handful of stores across the US too!  Rejoice and go forth to buy all the adorable Korean makeup!  Now let's go bananas.

Let's go bananas.  When I got to the shop it wasn't even open yet.  I had to wait around for about 10 minutes then I had literally 15 minutes before we had to rush off to the airport to jump on a plane and head home.  I was pretty pressed for time to shop.  I missed a lot but I did snag enough to keep me content until next time.  Look at the cute packages!  They even have the little grocery stickers that bananas have in the stores! GAH!

Out of their little boxes, the Banana Hand Milk and Lip Balm are even more adorable.  

Let's start with the Banana Lip Balm.  Cutest, smallest banana ever!  It comes with string loop so you can attach it to your cell phone or key chain.  The cap twists off to reveal a plastic, angled applicator.  The bottom portion of the container is a squeezy tube.  The balm itself squeezes out easily.  

The balm is a nice consistency, on the thick side but not tacky at all.  It smoothed on to my lips easily and evenly.  Banana Lip Balm is lightly banana scented but not flavored.  I tried to get a picture of it on my lips but they came out blurry and blah.  My lips were semi-glossy but not with that slick wet-look.  The balm lasted a good while too, through eating and drinks.  I like it so much I already bought a backup.  

And now the Banana Hand Milk.  I passed up on this in the Tony Moly store because I reasoned with myself that I have so much lotion I didn't need more.  Regrets.  So Amazon to the rescue and I had Banana Hand Milk within 2 days of returning home.  The Banana Hand Milk has a twist off top to reveal a small tube that dispenses lotion.  The bottom part of the lotion container is soft and you squeeze it to get the lotion out.  

The container squeezed fairly easily.  The actual lotion is a medium thickness consistency.  

The lotion rubbed in nicely and absorbed quickly.  Banana Hand Milk is lightly banana scented.  It doesn't last for an extended period of time, but I found it pleasant while I could smell it.  

You can see how well Banana Hand Milk moisturized my hand in the spot that I rubbed it in.  The rest of my hand is so dry and mad that I didn't put the lotion all over.  

Island Girl Hula Girl & Tony Moly GR11

Good morning/afternoon lovelies!  It's kind of in between so I am not sure which salutation to use right now.  It's brunch time but there's not really a way to say "Happy brunch time" or "good brunch."  You know what I mean?  Well today's post is full of neon and shimmer and crazy camera pictures because this polish made my camera go nutso.  If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram (mynailpolishobsession) you probably saw some of my Hawaii haul pictures.  I actually felt I was rather restrained and only brought home about 10 polishes.  Granted I brought home like 10 new pairs of stud earrings and a couple hand creams and lip balms up the yazoo.  I still did better than my husband who must have had buyers amnesia and came home with like 2 dozen t-shirts, haha!  Ok enough rambling…here's the post!

THIS is Island Girl Hula Girl.  A friend and I were laughing about the fact that Island Girl is only available in Hawaii (in ABC stores) yet it's made in California.  What the?  Oh, I also know there is an ABC store in Vegas so you can get them there too now.  Anyways, Hula Girl is this amazingly bright neon coral-pink creme polish with stunning fuchsia shimmer.  I mean it was WOW and my eyes were drawn to it immediately when I saw it in the display.  Hula Girl applied very sheer.  I used 3 coats and there was still visible nail line.  If you have long nails you will probably want to start with a base coat if VNL bothers you.  It dried to a duo matte finish (I'm not the biggest matte fan) but with 1 layer of topcoat that baby comes alive!  Just look at the pictures…it literally glows!  I also picked up some fun Tony Moly polishes because I also have no access to this cool Korean brand at home unless I stalk amazon, eBay, or stumble upon them in a blog sale.  I picked up a couple interesting looking glitters (I have to admit that quite a few looked like Lynnderellas).  I accented 1 nail with GR11 (wish the bottles had names) which was this very lovely glitter top coat.  GR11 is full of purpley shimmer and small silver hexs.  There are also pretty silver moons in there.  I used 1-2 coats (sorry, can't remember) and had plenty of glitter and shimmer come out easily.  The moons also came out easily but I had to dab them to get them off the brush and on to my nail.  As I mentioned before I used 1 layer of topcoat.

Cirque Colors Lonesome George & Tony Mony Neptune

Morning polish friends!  I have a lovely green combo for you today!  Who can say no to holo and glitter together?  I know I sure can't.  Especially now that it's nice sun-shiny summer time!  This beautiful duo is Cirque Colors Lonesome George and Tony Moly Neptune.  Here are the social media links to Cirque Colors: Facebook, website, Instagram (cirquecolors).  Annie the maker of Cirque Colors, posts about local sites she sells at around New York.  Just last weekend she had polish available at a Craft Fair in Brooklyn!  Make sure you are following her for updates!  Tony Moly originates from South Korea and isn't available in physical stores that I know of.  I found Neptune in a Facebook polish sales group but you can also find it (and other Tony Moly polishes and beauty products) on Amazon and eBay.   It also appears that this site MomoMango, carries a large array of Tony Moly products.  

Lonesome George is a gorgeous "jewel-toned" green linear holo.  I used 2 coats and the coverage was flawless.  So smooth and easy to apply.  There is also a light lavender smell to this polish (as well as all Cirques from what I've heard).  It doesn't bother me but if you are sensitive to smell you might want to pass.  I then did my accent nail with Neptune.  Neptune is a fabulous green & gold glitter bomb!  This glitter is so dense it doesn't need undies to become fully opaque.  I used 2 coats of Neptune.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.
