Super Black Lacquer Spring 2014

Hey there!  Lovely night we're having!  Sorry for disappearing on you there, the kids were home on Spring Break and well, you know how that goes!  Kids can be so needy!  Kidding.  I took them out to the beach practically every day and did a few other local things.  We had so much fun and now we are heading into the weekend baseball games, it's also picture day tomorrow so I will have yet another busy bee kind of a day.  Can I just sit down and have a margarita please?  Well maybe Sunday.  But for now let's look at these amazing polishes from the Super Black Lacquer Spring 2014 collection!  Mmmmmkay?

Super Black Lacquer: Shop, Facebook

Up first I have Framboise.  This is a "saturated raspberry jelly polish, with a ton of glitters: tiny black, matte pink, holographic lilac, and chunky matte white hex."  Framboise is a gorgeous and fun color for Spring.  It's so fresh and juicy!  It had a fabulous formula and application.  I used 3 coats of Framboise for full coverage (as full as you can get for a  jelly) and finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

The Grackle was my favorite from the polishes sent to me.  Though I don't feel it's a Spring-y color, it's absolutely gorgeous.  The Grackle is a "sparkling turquoise blue with a black base."  I actually think it's more of a blue-teal, but you say tomayto, I say tomahto.  The Grackle is just so inky and moody, I've been moody lately, maybe that's why I am digging it!  I used 2 coats for perfect coverage and 1 layer of topcoat for shine.

The Stag...hello gorgeous.  Ok, I changed my mind.  This was my favorite of the polishes I received!  The Stag is an amazing "glowy spring green polish with a rich bronze shimmer."  It's the perfect amount of brightness and shimmer.  It actually reminds me of the olive in a martini glass (I think I really need a drink - this is my second adult beverage remark).  The formula and application were both lovely.  The Stag was a tad sheer on the first coat but it built up beautifully in 3 coats.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Here we have another deep, rich, but playful color for the Spring...The Haymaker.  The Haymaker is a "deep, eggplant polish packed with 3 different sizes of matte, neon red-orange glitter."  I liked the combination of the deep base with the bright glitter, it really pops for a unique look.  The formula and application were both nice on this.  I used 3 coats of The Haymaker for full coverage and color depth.  I did find the red glitters are a bit gritty when the polish dries, but a layer of topcoat smoothed it all out.

And rounding out the post is Majestic, a "super-smooth, creamy orchid."  Majestic is a lovely color and a fabulous creme.  Pastels usually give me problems with streaks or being chalky but this was absolutely not the case here.  Majestic was even flowing and self leveling.  I used 3 coats for full coverage and 1 layer of topcoat.  Majestic is the perfect Spring color.
