Lumina Lacquer Valentine's Day Trio

Hello, hello!  Yes I am back again.  My seat is parked and I have been working my fingers off to get these all posted for you.  But you want to know something, I'm having fun!  And who doesn't love sparkly polish on their nails?  I sure do!  This post is the new Valentine's Day Trio from Lumina Lacquer.  I am so happy Tatiana went back to her glitter bomb roots with this collection and gave us some awesome new glitters to enjoy!  Of course I adore her solids colors and micro glitters, but it makes me happy to see the glitter bombs because that's what initially drew me to her brand well over a year ago.  The Valentine's Day Trio is made of 3 Limited Edition glitters and they just went live in the shop for $9 each.  I love them all but keep reading to find out which is my favorite of the 3.

Up first is Cupid, a "neon pink and white glitter mix that includes hearts, stars, and flowers."  The glitter mixture is very sweet and girly.  I put it over OPI Flamingo Tink Pink and love all the pinkness.  Cupid had a great formula with fantastic glitter coverage.  There was no fishing required for shapes or larger glitters.  I used 2 coats of Cupid and finished with a layer of topcoat.

Next, Bad Romance.  This is a "blue, turquoise and black glitter mix that includes hearts and stars in a clear base."  THIS was my favorite.  I loved the colors and sized of the glitters.  I love that it's not the typical Valentine's Day colors.  Bad Romance had a fantastic formula and applied easily.  I was really happy with the glitter payoff.  I used 2 coats of Bad Romance over Zoya Ling.  I finished with topcoat.

And rounding out the collection is Paramore.  Paramore is a "pink, red and gold holo microglitter blend in a clear base."  This is the blingy wow-factor of the trio!  The blend of colors are perfect and the microglitter, like all of Tatiana's microglitters, applies with ease and covers fully on it's own in a few coats.  But look at the bling!  Sorry, I am easily distracted by sparkly things.  Formula and application were both aces.  I used 3 coats of Paramore and finished with topcoat for a smooth to the touch finish.

The first polish I have to share is Wine Time!  Inspired by the Panteone Color of 2015, this is a gorgeous redish-marsala polish full of holo shimmer and sparkle.  It actually dries to a suede finish which is very pretty and unique, although I forgot to take a picture of it that way so check out this post from Pointless Cafe to see Wine Time in it's natural suede state.  I was actually too eager to topcoat it and see that sparkle pop - and wow does it!  With every movement of my hands I saw sparkles and bling. Formula and application were both good, Wine Time covered completely in 2 coats.  Be sure to let each layer dry fully before adding the next - especially if you plan to wear it with the suede finish.  But if you want the glossy finish use topcoat like I did!

The other polish Gina has for us is Cherub Rock.  Glitter bombs are her thang so I am happy she created a fun one for us this coming holiday.  Cherub Rock (yes inspired by the Smashing Pumpkins song - listen to it HERE) is full of metallic pinks and silvers (circles, triangles, sequins) and matte black (hearts and stars).  Of course it has her signature touch, a nice dose of holo sparkle.  It's an awesome blend and will look great over all kinds of base colors - pinks, reds, white, silver, grey, etc...  I used Barielle Grey Skies as my base and fell it showed off all the glitters and holo sparkle.  I actually used the sponge method again with this glitter topper - brushing glitters and base onto a cosmetic sponge and dabbing it on my nails.  This helped get maximum glitters and less base.  I sponged on 2 coats of Cherub Rock and finished with a thick layer of topcoat.

Super Black Lacquers Fall 2014 Collection

Good morning and Happy Halloween!  I'll be watching my kids parade at their school, then helping out in one of the classrooms while they get settled into a Halloween art project!  Hopefully I'll have time to grab coffee with a girlfriend before I have to go straight back to the school and pick them all up.  So while I do all that you can check out the new Super Black Lacquers Fall 2014 Collection!  Packed full of shimmer, glitter, metallic, creme and opalescence - it's a fabulous 5 piece collection that covers alot of finish bases!  The Fall 2014 Collection is currently available on the website and you can purchase them for $10 - $12 each.

Bruiser is a "plum purple with silvery shimmer."  Bruiser is showing a bit warmer in my pictures than it is in real life.  But that silver flakie shimmer is ah-mazing!   It's a really flattering shade of purple that has fantastic coverage.  Both the formula and application were great.  I used 2 coats of Bruiser for complete opaqueness and finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Fall Back is a perfect "midnight blue creme."  This is an extremely opaque slightly jelly formula (maybe it's cruelly?).  It is super dark, almost black in regular lighting.  In my bright light you can clearly see that it is a deep blue.  Fall Back had a great formula that was easy to work with.  It applied smoothly and has a shiny finish. I used 3 coats of Fall Back for full coverage and finished up with a layer of topcoat to keep the uber glossy look.

Moving on to the glitter of the collection, Boss Lady.  Boss Lady is a "glitterbomb with 5 sizes of champagne fold glitter and gold pigment."  This is just WOW!  It's so luxurious and blingy AND gold!  I love the sparkle and depth.  You can wear Boss Lady alone or over a base color.  But this is really opaque alone so it could totally cover the base color that you choose unless you lightly sponge Boss Lady on.  I chose to wear it alone and had full coverage in 3 coats.  I also sponged 1 layer on the tip of my accent nail (which was Fall Back).  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat for a smooth finish.

Semi Automatic is a "metallic gunmetal grey."  I love this color, it's dark and beautiful!  It will be a perfect color to transition into the Winter months.  The formula and application were both great - smooth formula and even coverage.  There is a very fine rainbow holo shimmer visible to the naked eye but I wasn't successful at capturing it in any of my pictures.  There were a few visible brush strokes so paint carefully if that bothers you.  I used 2 coats of Semi Automatic and 1 layer of topcoat.

I saved my favorite for last, The Perfectionist.  This is a "warm camel polish with violet pearlescence."  Holy hell this is one stunning polish!  I love it's super neutral yet girly base and the addition of that shimmer is, well, perfection.  The Perfectionist is very creamy and has a pretty opaque formula for such a light color.  It applied like a dream.  I used 3 coats of The Perfectionist and 1 layer of topcoat.
