KBShimmer Leaf Of Faith

Good morning!  I have a beautiful polish to share with you today.  Actually I am using it as an appetite whetter since it's from last Fall and I have the current Winter collection ready to be swatched and shared!  So while you wait for that post you can enjoy this beauty.  KBShimmer puts out a plethora of fantastic polish each season.  This is a prime example of what I'm talking about; jelly, holo glitter, perfect.  Just your luck - Leaf Of Faith is still available so make sure you head over and pick up a bottle.  I promise you'll love it as much as I do!

Leaf Of Faith is a "deep Cabernet red jelly" with red, orange and gold holo glitters.  Stunning!  I love how this polish screams Autumn.  I found the formula really stupendous.  It was easy to apply and the jelly formula built up perfectly.  I used 3 coats of Leaf Of Faith for full coverage and a layer of topcoat.  I am showing this polish in indirect sunlight because it shows the color and glitters off better.  

Wicked Polish Arson

Good morning!  Hope all is well with you this Monday.  Hopefully you have the day off!  I wore this mani a few days back and wanted to share it because it's so fun.  Man I am beyond ready for the heat and trips to the beach and the pool and hanging in the backyard with a brew while watching the kids play!  A nice smoking bbq would finish off that dream nicely!  Mmmmm I can smell it now - my inner carnivore is screaming for bbq!  Ok I went way off track.  Back to polish!  This neon glitter topper will be perfect for bright summer days!  Wicked Polish always does a great job with her glitters - the colors and shapes are very appealing to me and I try to pick them up whenever I can.  Let's go ahead and jump in to check out Arson!

Wicked Polish Arson is a "glitter topper filled with neon pink, yellow, and orange hexs of multiple sizes and neon pink stars."  I love it!  It's the perfect blend of colors for me!  Since it's in a clear base it will be easy to wear over any color.  I went with a soft peach shade as the base.  The formula and application of Arson were both great.  The glitter came out easily  and spread well on my nails.  I used 2 coats of Arson and finished with a layer of topcoat.  

CrowsToes Hell Hath No Fury & Avon Supernova

Good morning!  Thought I'd jump on and share the mani I wore for my date night last night.  My daughter goes to a little gym class and they hold a parents night out once a month.  It's so nice to have a place to drop the kids off and get a couple hours to spend alone with my husband.  It's amazing how much better food tastes when I don't have to hold on to my daughter from climbing under the table, or stop the boys from bickering over which color crayons they got.  It nice to be able to talk without interruption and enjoy adult only time.  Anywho....I wore a pretty coral red top and I threw this on my nails to match (actually I think it went the other way around, I matched my shirt to my nails).  Here are the media links to CrowsToes and Avon before we look at pictures!

So I started this simple but lovely mani with 2 coats of Avon Supernova.  Supernova is part of the Cosmic holo collection that came out in the Spring this year.  I picked up a few and the holos are soft and beautiful.  The formula is very creamy and opaque and you can easily get away with 1 coat!  Supernova is a warm red-orange color with a subtle scattered holo effect.  It's gorgeous alone and adds just a little something extra special as a base for glitter.   I used 2 coats.  Then I blinged it up with CrowsToes Hell Hath No Fury.  Hell Hath No Fury is from the 2012 Halloween collection and is described as a "bright mix of fire and orange glitters with a red/orange/gold colorshifting shimmer."  It's so gorgeous!  The color shifting shimmer is a purple iridescent that gives off little glowing twinkles.  I used 2 coats and the glitter came out easily and was plentiful.  Application and formula were both great.  I used 1 layer of topcoat to finish - I'd use 2 next time as my nails weren't completely smooth to the touch. 

Glow In the Dark Week, Night 2: Dollish Polish Spectral Pup

Good evening and welcome back to the 2nd night of Glow In The Dark week!  I had this idea pop into my head and with my recent discovery of how to make my polish glow AND capture it in pictures I thought it would be fun to feature a different glow in the dark polish each night for a week.  So far what I'm certain of is that I want more glow in the dark everything!  I can see a new addiction forming here.  In case you missed it last night:
Night 1 - Ninja Polish Howling Blue Moon
Tonight's post is Dollish Polish Spectral Pup.  This is another polish that was released last Halloween.  I had to have it and am embarrassed to admit I have never worn it.  Until now.  And what a fun glowing polish it is!  Aside from being a big fan of the inspireation (Zero from A Nightmare Before Christmas), I'm a fan of how the glitters glow - reminds me of a picture of the universe or of a dense cover of stars in the sky.  Spectral Pup is a clear base polish full of white and orange glitter with holo shimmer.  I used 2 coats over 3 coats of Pure Ice Twinkle.  Spectral Pup had a great formula - the glitter came out easily and spread well on my nails.  The green glow is really strong and pretty.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat. 

Literary Lacquers Green Gables Collection, Part 2 - Shimmer & Glitter!

As promised, here is Part 2 of the Literary Lacquers Green Gables collection!  If you missed Part 1 (the holos), you can see it HERE.  The Green Gables collection was inspired by Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery.   Amy truly put together a mighty fine collection here and I feel lucky to share it with you.  Today I am reviewing a gorgeous shimmer and a fun crelly based glitter!

This lovely polish is Marilla's Amethyst Brooch.  Amy describes Marilla's Amethyst Brooch as, "Amethyst shimmer with a pink to orange color shifting flash."  My description is close, but I would say there is more of a purple to blue shift.  The pink shimmer is really beautiful and I ended up falling head over heels for this polish!  Marilla's Amethyst Brooch had a great formula that glided effortlessly over my nails.  I used 3 coats for the photos but I could have easily used 2.  I used 1 layer of topcoat and I had super glossy and shimmery nails.  

And here we are at the end of my Green Gables Collection reviews.  Tear.  This is Carrots Carrots.  Isn't it cute?  The name fits the color perfectly in my opinion.  Amy says Carrots Carrots is a "Peachy-orange crelly with tons of orange glitter."  Very close to my take on the polish.  I see loads of orange glitter in this bottle: matte, shiny, red-orange, orange and white.  It's a lovely mix and I feel it's quite unique.  For my pictures I used 3 coats to build up the base color.  It applied fairly sheer in the first and second coat but looks pretty full bodied by the third.  The glitter came out in abundance and spread easily on my nails.  There was no clumping or issues with the formula/application to report.  I used 1 layer of Gelous to smooth is all out.  You could layer Carrots Carrots but I would suggest a similar base color such as Illamasqua Purity to lessen the number of coats you need to use.
