Good afternoon, happy Tuesday!  How is April halfway over? Can 2019 slow down just a bit?  I feel like I don't have time to do anything and the days are literally flying by!  And I am counting down the days until my house is completely done.  Looks like we are down to the last 2 weeks of contractors being here and things being worked on. Until then we have 1 bedroom for all of us (thankfully it's my new HUGE master bedroom) and there's room on the floor for mats for the kids to lay on.  They think it's fun, like camping, pshhht - kids.  Ok but that has nothing to do with today's post so let's get in to it.  

Dreamland Lacquer is having a launch with 3 gorgeous remakes!  Her popular shades A Wedding Dress That isn't Bright Turquoise, The Search is Over and You Saucy Minx.  These have been redone with Aurora UP shimmer and they are gorgeous, as well as more opaque.  I have pictures of the new ones compared to the old versions also because I know how fun comparisons are!  The new Aurora UP Remakes will be available 4/19 at 2pm Central.  They will be $10.50 each/$30 for all 3 during the 48 hour pre-order.  $11.50 after that.  Let's jump in and check them out!

6 Harts January Polish Pickup Exclusive: Mojave Jewel

Evening loves!  I told you the rest of this day would be a bit busy and I wasn't kidding!  Almost back to back posts but I don't want you to miss out on anything that could help you make a decision on your purchases.  But first can I just say that I am really happy to see 6 Harts getting involved in the Polish Pickup!  Courtney has  great eye for finish and color combos and Mojave Jewel is a perfect example of it.  Plus, who doesn't love a fantastic turquoise?!  I have a soft spot in my heart for this gemstone because it really reminds me of my grandma. She had so many awesome turquoise pieces, I oogled them as a kid.  I have a few pieces from her collection and it brings me happy memories of her every time I wear them.  Mojave Jewel will be available from 1/5 - 1/8 and will be $10.

Glisten & Glow Experience the Islands

Good evening dolls!  I have a post full of gorgeous cremes to share with you tonight!  I feel like cremes are getting their 15 minutes of fame at the moment and I have to tell yo a little secret...I love it!  I was never really a huge creme fan but lately they have really impressed me.  Probably because they are from fantastic indie makers and indies do it best!  Glisten & Glow created this 4-piece set of creme polish called Experience the Islands.  Ok first off YES PLEASE, i want to experience the islands.  I love tropical vacations and would be happy living on an island for the rest of my life.  Second, these colors and the creamy finish are perfection.  Experience the Islands will be available on 7/15 at 9am Eastern.  Make sure you mark your calendar and jump on the creme cruise!

ellagee Burnished Skies

Pahlish & Elevation Polish Collaboration: The Venetian Duo

Good afternoon (or evening to those of you on the West & East coasts).  It's only 4pm here.  I'm definitely enjoying this laid back island lifestyle.  But my love for polish is too strong and I just had to swatch - but this collaboration duo is a real stunna so I'm glad I brought it along!  Phalish and Elevation Polish have done a few collaboration duos before (Shannon and Lulu are very tight IRL friends so it's only natural that they'd want to do these fantastic duos) and we are all the more lucky for it because both brands are really amazing.  The August collaboration is The Venetian Duo, and  both polishes are gorgeous.  I have had the pleasure of going to Venice and this duo captures both the classy and historical qualities of the architecture and overall feel of that beautiful city on the water.  The Venetian Duo will be available in the Pahlish shop on 8/2 at 7pm CST and in the Elevation shop on 8/7 at 9pm CST.  The duo will be $22, not including shipping.  Alright, I know you're not here for my banter so let's look at pictures (apologies for no macros - I don't have my lens with me)!

Here's a pic of both bottles together; Elevation Polish The Merchant's Son and Pahlish The Wayfarer.  Even just looking at the bottles you can tell how perfectly they compliment each other!

Elevation Polish came up with The Merchant's Son, a light turquoise creme base polish with a very subtle teal shimmer.  It reminds me of the pretty, brightly painted houses along the canals in Venice.  This polish is also a thermal!  The shift is very slight, it basically turns to a darker turquoise shade when cold.  But since I am in Hawaii there is no cold.  I even attempted to capture it with bowls of water but it wasn't working so well - you can see a very little color change at my nail tips in most of the pictures though.  You can check out the thermal change over on Ehmkay Nails post HERE!  The Merchant's Son was a bit sheer with the first coat but it built up to perfect coverage in 3 coats.  And the color - AH-MAY-ZING!  I truly adore the color and the shimmer.  Lulu really does subtle so well!  I have on 1 layer of topcoat to finish.  

And now the Pahlish contribution to the duo.  I fell hard for The Wayfarer.  You'll see why shortly.  The Wayfarer is a beautiful blend of silver chrome flakies, possibly some ultra chrome flakies and  some iridescent shimmer and glitter.  Simple (thought not really) and stunning!  The Wayfarer is very pretty with a very old world vibe.  It's kind of burnished gold and silver and all things renaissance.  Anyways, the formula was top notch!  I had perfect coverage with 1 coat.  Of course this is layered over The Merchant's Son.  I finished up with 1 layer of topcoat.   Perfect Summer duo, period.

Summer of Untrieds day 27: Matte

Good morning!  Happy Sunday!  I love how lazy Sunday mornings are, don't you?  I will just sit here with my cuppa joe and listen to the kids play in the backyard.  So relaxing.  So today is day 27 of the Summer of Untrieds challenge and the theme is matte.  I figured no better time to try out this last ManGlaze that I've had forever and haven't tried yet.  Well I am kicking myself now because it's probably my favorite ManGlaze now!  Before we just into the pictures I just wanted to let you know that YOU can still participate in the last 4 days of the challenge! Just use #summrofuntrieds, #julyuntriedchallenge and #wishesofablueeyedgirl when you post your picture to Facebook or Instagram!

ManGlaze is known for it's racy names and bottle art.  That's one of the main reasons I love the brand - they aren't conventional or pc and they don't care!  The other reason I love the brand is because  they make kick ass mattes in a pretty full array of colors!  I say pretty full because I see no yellow!  Anyways, this is Ilf, a turquoise matte that has a very pretty silvery shimmer in it.  The formula was a little sheer, but I am also a little light handed.  I needed 3 coats of Ilf for full coverage.  Aside from that (and I don't find that a problem at all) everything was aces!  You can use topcoat to enhance the shimmer, but you will lose the matte look.   

Dior Bahia & Samba Duo Skittlette

Good morning readers!  I recently tried a waterfall mani and it was so easy and pretty that I had to do it again!  But this time I did it in a skittlette that was inspired by the awesome Jacki over at Adventures in Acetone.  She has been doing some truly gorgeous skittlettes and I drew my inspiration from one that she recently did - you can see it HERE!

So here's my take on it!  I started with the Dior Samba and Bahia duos which were the polish addition to the Birds of Paradise summer makeup collection.  They came in 2 sets with 2 mini bottles each.  The Samba Duo consisted of a foily/metallicy peacock teal (794) and a dusty mint green creme (402).  I used 2 coats for each polish and they both went on like butter - as I have come to expect from Dior polishes.  I also used the medium blue-teal creme from the Bahia Duo (792).  It went on smooth and easy and covered my nail in 2 coats.  I then created a waterfall mani on my accent nail using a nail art striping brush.  I also used flocking powder on my pinky to create a fuzzy nail effect.  I dipped my wet nail into the pot of flocking powder and pressed it down firmly.  I shook and blew off the excess and my nail cam out looking like a blue stuffed animal!  I used 1 layer of topcoat on the polished nails (not the fuzzy nail).  

Shimmer Polish Sarah + Zoya Akyra

I love blue, teal, turquoise, and all those shades in between.  This combo is easily one of my favorites to date!  It reminded me of a shimmery mermaid tale.  

I started with 3 coats of Zoya Akyra, a teal, leaning more green shimmery based polish.  It was a very thin and watery formula.  But it is a pretty color.  It made great undies for Shimmer Polish Sarah.  Sarah is described as tropical green and blue.  I'd elaborate and say Sarah is full of turquoise, royal blue, green, gold and purple.   It was a great formula that spread easily on the nail.  As with all the other Shimmer's I have used, loads of glitter came out with each brush dip and I had no issues with clumping.       Sarah was so stunningly glittery and shimmery...a truly beautiful polish!  I felt like a mermaid on land!
