Too Fancy Lacquer Call Me Queen Bee

Good afternoon!  It's getting so hot here I feel like I'm melting.  I will be in Vegas this coming weekend so if I don't melt before then I surely will while there because it's supposed to be 105.  Umphf.  Oh well, I will sit at the pool and drink pina coladas, poor me.  But I digress, let's talk about polish.  I have a special post today for a lovely friend who was in need of moral support.  The funny part is that she absolutely loathes yellow polish, yet to keep a light and fun and a little teasing, yellow was the color chosen.  Let's take a look at the polish I chose to help cheer up my pal.

I personally love yellow polish and Call Me Queen Bee is a gorgeous golden yellow holo polish.  It actually site somewhere between a pastel yellow creamed honey and a dijon mustard color.  Yeah, it won't be for everyone but it is definitely for me.  And it's totally unique in my stash of yellow holos.  Call Me Queen Bee had an amazing formula and application.  It was completely creamy and opaque in 1 coat (yup, this beauty is a ONE COATER!).  I did not use topcoat for my pictures.  So what do you think? This this yellow holo for you?

Bear Pawlish; You Ain't Limon, Holo Back Girl & Holo Friend

Good morning readers!  I have another new to me brand that I'm excited to share with you today.  Well it's not really new to me, I have been in the fan group and have lusted after quite a few of the beauties from Bear Pawlish for about 2 months now and just couldn't hold out any longer!  I ended up making a nice little purchase and have 3 of the 4 to show you today (I have a special idea for the 4th so keep an eye out for that one soon)!  Let me start this post by saying that Tennessee, the gal behind Bear Pawlish is really sweet!  Great customer service, very personable, gorgeous polish, plenty of stock (= no stress buying) and high quality formula.  So I think that's enough thumbs up that you should give the brand a try!  Alright - let's look at polish!

Bear Pawlish: Shop, Facebook, Instagram

This is You Ain't Limon'!  It's described as a "very happy lemon lime jelly holo."  On the nose!  This is a bright and fun color and while in the sunlight it's a neon yellow, in regular lighting it's the same color as Mountain Dew!  I always feel perked up when I wear bright colors like this and You Ain't Limon' didn't disappoint!  The fact that it's an amazing holo just added to my elation.  The formula and application were both fabulous.  I used  2 coats and 1 layer of topcoat.

Holo Back Girl is another awesome holo!  Holo Back Girl is described as a "bright and intense purple linear holo."  I'd peg it more as a magenta-pink, but whatever color you think it is it's 100% amazing. The holo flame is really lovely with a strong purple color.  Again, the formula and application were both wonderful.  I used 2 coats and 1 layer of topcoat.  Ok, now you know you want to sing Gwen Stefani Hollaback Girl, I know I do!  And this polish definitely gets me fired up!

Holo Friend is like the punky micro glitter sister to Holo Back Girl.  Holo Friend is a "purple scattered holo with larger purple circles and black diamond glitters."  Again, I see a berry-magenta instead of purple but it's still amazing!  So sparkly you really have to see it in person.  This was a very dense micro glitter and I had full coverage in 2 coats!  The circles and diamonds came out a bit sparsely but the ones that did end up on my nails looked awesome!  Formula and application were both great.  Be warned though - micro glitters are always a pain to clean up and take off, be prepared to have little glitter particles everywhere!  I added a few extra pictures of Holo Friend to show off the sparkle.

Nail Nation 3000 Lemon Drop & Lumina Lacquer Black Magic Woman

Good morning...happy Saturday!  I'm so happy it's the weekend.  I'm eating waffles, drinking coffee and getting ready for the 4 hour ordeal that is my kids baseball games.  I wanted to swing in here real quick like and share this awesome mani I put together!  I love me some yellow and I love me some holo.  Adding an perfect blend of black and white glitters on top totally made me feel like I had Queen Bee nails!  I love how it turned out.  Let's take a peek!

Nail Nation 3000: Shop, Facebook, Instagram

I started this mani with Nail Nation 3000 Lemon Drop.  Actually my hubby got it for me as a birthday present, and he didn't want to save it so I got to wear it early!  Lemon Drop is a borderline neon, yellow holo.  In real life the holo is so much more awesome, but pictures didn't want to capture it.  It was a bit sheer so I used 3 coats for close-to-full coverage.  Lemon Drop dries pretty dull so this baby needs top coat to really shine.  I then topped 2 accent nails with Lumina Lacquer Black Magic Woman.  Black Magic Woman is an amazing blend of black and white glitters in a variety of circles, triangles, stars, moons, hexs and micro glitters.  Now you see why I say I felt like a Queen Bee!  Formula and application were both fabulous.  The glitter pay off of Black Magic Woman was great.  I used 2 coats and 2 coats of topcoat.

Super Black Lacquer Fall 2013 Collection

Good morning!  Sorry for going MIA again.  This month has been pretty busy and I've had to put blogging on the back burners to what happens in life.  But thankfully it's nothing serious or bad, just alot going on.  Dern holidays getting in the way of my blogging.  LOL.   Well I have some really fabulous holos to show you today.  You know I am a humongo fan of holos so I literally squealed when these arrived in my mailbox!  These beauties are the Super Black Lacquers Fall 2013 Collection and they are amazing.  I have reviews Super Black Lacquers before and you can check those posts out HEREHERE and HERE (there are a few more and you can do a search for Super Black in my search bar).  I have been impressed with every SBL that I've tried and these are no exception.  Actually I think they may be my favorites!  You can purchase Super Black Lacquer HERE and can follow them on Facebook and Instagram!  So let's delve in to the pictures!

*PRESS SAMPLE*

This is Guilty.  Guilty is a metallic yellow-gold color with a soft linear holo.  It had an amazing, buttery formula that was so easy to apply.  No problems with patches or streaks, just flawless formula and application.  I used 2 coats for full coverage and upon the recommendation from Natalie on her product description, I didn't use topcoat so the holo would be at it's strongest.

3rd Degree is the only polish in this collection that isn't a holo, but I love it!  It's one of my favorite color families and the glowy shimmer is perfection.  Natalie describes it as a "pearlescent persimmon" color with "superfine gold shimmer."  The juicy red-orange color is spot on for the Fall and the shimmer will completely steal your breath!  I tried to do my best at capturing the shimmer so hopefully you can see how gorgeous it is.  I used 2 coats for full coverage and again it was an amazing formula and application was perfect.  I finished this with 1 layer of topcoat.

I love the name and color of Spanked.  Spanked is described as a "shimmering cranberry red in low light, with a prismatic holo effect in sunlight."  I'm not sure I see the cran, but I definitely see the berry!  Or maybe this is the shade of a freshly spanked behind.  Whatever the reason or meaning behind the name this is a gorgeous color with a beautiful soft linear holo effect.  Just like the other 2 from the Fall 2013 collection it had a buttery formula with lovely application.  I used 2 coats and no topcoat.

And lastly is Heather.  Heather is a purple polish with a soft linear holo effect.  It's the perfect shade of purple...a perfect in between color.  The holo effect is also really lovely.  Keeping in line with the others, application and formula were both wonderful.   I used 2 layers and no topcoat.

Just because I thought it would be pretty I did a little gradient mani with Spanked and Heather!  They were so pretty together.  I like how you can see the differences in holo effect on the 2 different polishes.  I did use a layer of topcoat here to smooth out and gloss up my gradient.
