Beauty Post: Ardell Eyebrow Kit

Hi there!  Today I actually wanted to share a beauty post with you - the Ardell Eyebrow Kit.  When my sister got married back in October I had my hair and makeup done for the event.  The makeup artist used an eyebrow kit on me to darken and fill in my eyebrows.  Well I was hooked.  I loved my darker and fuller eyebrows and now I use the Ardell Eyebrow Kit every day.  It's so easy and only takes a minute to spruce up my own arches.  I would say that my brows are medium thickness/darkness with a few sparse areas.  I also could do for a little more length at the ends.  When I fill in my eyebrows I feel done.  I feel more confident.  If you haven't tried out an eyebrow kit you should - it really helps create a lovely frame for your entire face!

So this is what the Ardel Eyebrow Kit looks like.  3 natural shades of pressed powders, handy mini tools; eyeshadow applicator, a small angled brush and mini tweezers.  There is also a mirror underneath the tools so you really could stash this kit in your purse and use it on the go.  I used the darker of the 2 powders to fill in my brows.  Using the angled brush I dabbed it into the powder and lightly filled on any sparse spots, extending my brow in length ever so slightly.  You don't need much powder, so be careful that you don't overdo it.  There's a huge difference between finished brows and overdone brows.  I finished by using the shadow applicator to sweep the highlighting shade (the light cream color) just under my brow bone to really make that definition pop.  Done!  Who knew such a small step in your beauty routine would make such a huge difference.

(don't mind my unfinished eyeshadow)

Here is my finished makeup with my filled in eyebrows.  It looks so natural but really helps my eyebrows stand out  - which in turn helps bring more attention to my eyes.  I love the difference the Ardel Eyebrow Kit made in my daily look - small change, huge payoff!

Paint Box Polish Pygmy Puff & Fizzing Whizbees

Good afternoon dears!  It's a dreary day out here in NorCal.  The rain picked up again and it's windy enough to turn your umbrella inside out.  I've just finished lunch and need to rush out for some Christmas shopping before I pick up my boys from school.  Wish me luck to brave this weather!  But I wanted to keep my mojo going and get another post shared!  I have some beauties from Paint Box Polish for you to take a gander at.  You know I love my corals and oranges so it was only natural that I chose these two.  I see a couple others I am eager to try so hopefully in the near future I can pick those up and share them with you too!

Up first I have Fizzing Whizbees, inspired by candy at Honeydukes in the Harry Potter series.  It's an "orange crelly packed with small rainbow flakies."  I love this shade, it's so bright and happy.  And I totally want to eat a sherbet ball from Honeydukes now!  The formula and application of Fizzing Whizbees were were both fantastic.  I used 2 coats and 1 layer of topcoat for full coverage.

Next I have Pygmy Puff, inspired by a puffy friend sold at the Weasley's Wizard Wheezes in the Harry Potter series.  Pygmy Puff is a "shimmery, matte coral packed with gold flakies."  I love that this is such a gorgeous and unique matte polish!  The gold flakies stand out so well against the base color.  You can use topcoat for a super glossy and shimmery look.  The formula and application of Pygmy Puff were both wonderful.  I used 3 coats and 1 layer of topcoat.

Sweet Heart Polish Rainbow Deconstructed

OMG I did a post!  Sorry for the disappearing act.  I suppose I was taking a break from blogging.  And I won't lie, it's been nice.  But I have posts backing up and new things rolling in to review so I guess it's time to peek out from the rock I've been holed up under.  My first post is a gorgeous jelly full of awesome flakies from Sweet Heart Polish.  This beauty is currently available in the shop and is a Limited Edition shade (last I checked there was only 1 available).  So hurry on over there if you are loving this polish!

Rainbow Deconstructed is a "purple jelly polish with multi colored flakies."  Rainbow Deconstructed had a great formula  and applied easily.  I liked the ratio of flakies to base.  I used 4 coats of Rainbow Deconstructed and no topcoat.  As you can see from the pictures you will still have some visible nail line, but all jelly base polishes have this.
