Nubar Alter Ego: Gypsy, Krystal & Roxy

G'morning dears!  I have a few more lovely new Nubars to share with you.  This lot is from the Winter 2013 Alter Ego collection.  If you head over to bynubar.com you'll see that this entire collection is made up of pretty tinted bases full of "glitters, micas, and multi-colored, random sized mylar."  The mylar flakes are there to give a "3-D" effect but I personally think they really give these polishes some serious twinkle effect.  Pictures don't do any of them justice, you just have to see them in all their flashiness on your own nails!  You can follow Nubar on Facebook and on Instagram (bynubar).

Gypsy is a "clear green wash with various sized mylar and silver sparkles."  I used 2 coats of Gypsy over a few different colors.  I have on FNUG Hipster, Zoya Suvi and a gradient of the 2 together.  Gypsy looks great over both colors!  Plenty of glitter and mylar flakes covered my nail and application was good.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Krystal is a "sheer silver white with multi-color sparkles and mylar."  I like Krystal because it's in a clear base so can easily go over any base color.  But I also noticed that Krystal is mostly glitter with sparse and small mylar flakes.  I have 1 layer of Krystal over Bettina Tulipani and Sheswai Hot Damn.  Formula on this one was also very nice and plenty of glitter came out with each brush dip.  Krystal is especially twinkly...I couldn't get many pictures that didn't have the twinkle flash.  I used 2 layer of topcoat.

Last I have Roxy.  Roxy is "a sheer bright blue with red and silver mylar and sparkles."  This one was the least sparkly of the 3 I had.  I started this mani with 2 coats of Orly Blue Collar and an accent of Red Dog Designs Caribbean Keys on my ring finger.  I then used 2 coats of Roxy.  Formula and application were both great.  I used 1 layer of topcoat.
