Summer of Untrieds Day 15: Pink

Good morning!  Can you believe we are halfway through the month, therefore halfway through the Summer of Untrieds challenge?  I am so happy I decided to jump in on this challenge put together by Julie of Wishes of a Blue Eyed Girl!  I have had a great time trying out previously unloved polish!  It also gives me an idea of items that I can't live without and those that I can part with to make room for new beauties.  The theme for Day 15 is Pink.  Pink is the best.  If you want to participate in the challenge make sure to use #summerofuntrieds, #julyuntriedschallenge or #wishesofablueeyedgirl on your Facebook or Instagram post.

How could I not wear Pretty Serious Cosmetics The Pink One as my untried polish for Pink day.  WOW this polish is so bright and gorgeous!  The Pink One is a neon, eye searing pink that is full of purple or blue shimmer (I can't really tell so maybe it's blurple shimmer).  Of course it made my camera go a bit wonky but you still get the idea of how bright and beautiful it is.  The formula and application on The Pink One were both fantastic.  I used 2 layers of The Pink One and no topcoat.

Lumina Lacquer New Wave

Good morning!  Hope you had a lovely weekend!  I did but Monday's always come too soon.  Oh well, I am not going to let the Monday blues get me down so let's look at a bright and fun mani I did to show off an LE Lumina Lacquer, New Wave.

Lumina Lacquer: Shop, Facebook, Instagram

New Wave is so much fun!  It's a nod to the 80's and is a clear base packed full of sequin (aka donut) glitters in metallic pink, red and gold.  This glitter is very different from any I've tried before and even thought it wasn't the easiest to apply I still liked it a lot.  New Wave isn't a spread on the nail type polish, it's definitely one that you need to dab on.  That does give you room for creating specific looks and patterns with the glitters.  The donuts did come out easily though so no issues with that.  I put New Wave over a gradient of Pretty Serious Cosmetics Generally Hazardous and My Darlin' Clementine.  I finished with 2 layers of topcoat.

Merry Christmas!

It's Christmas!  Did Santa come to your house?  He came to mine and my kids are ecstatic!  So this will be quick!  I wanted to wish you a very Happy Holiday and good tidings to you and your loved ones.  I look forward to watching the joy in my kids faces and eating the delectable tamales I made with my family.  Enjoy your day and hope you like my mani!

Elevation Polish: Blog, Shop, Llarowe, Instagram

I used some pretty fabulous polishes for this mani!  I started with a-England Tess D-Urbervilles, a very dark hunter green with mini emerald green flakes.  Tess is a stunning color full of depth and glamour.  I used 2 coats for full coverage and optimum depth.  Formula and application were both flawless.  I used Tess on my thumb, index and middle fingers.  I topped Tess with Elevation Polish Yeti <3's the Holidays.  Holy moly this is a gorgeous Christmas glitter mix.  It's packed full of satin and matte white glitters in fun shapes like hearts, circles and squares.  There are also red and green matte circles and gold holo stars.  But the best part of Yeti is the gold shimmer.  It's absolutely amazing.  And it has the perfect amount of shimmer so that it doesn't turn frosty or block out the base color.  Lulu really knocked this one out of the park, it's truly amazing.  Formula and application were both fabulous.  I used 2 coats.  I then used Pretty Serious Cosmetics Santa's Sunburn on my ring and pinky finger nails.  Santa's Sunburn is a scorch your eyes "red foil with tiny flecks of silver."  I adore this red!  I used 2 coats for maximum eye-burnage.  Formula and application were wonderful.  I finished this mani with 1 layer of topcoat over Santa's Sunburn and 2 coats over my glitter nails.

Fall Mani with a-England Holy Grail, Pretty Serious Cosmetics Seasonal Sunset and Hit Polish Jack-O-Lantern

Good morning lovelies!  I am having so much fun with these Fall colors!  I simply adore them all.  And not to pat myself on the back, but I am also really loving the manis that I am churning out these days.  Admittedly I am trying harder to be more "exciting."  I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoy creating them!  So let's talk polish!

The first step I did in this gorgeous mani was to paint my thumb, index and middle finger with 2 coats of a-England Holy Grail, the original metallic yellow gold version.  It's such a beautiful color and the formula was really great.  The formula was just a touch sheer but I'm sure with a 3rd coat it would have been just fine to wear alone.  Application was a dream and I look forward to using Holy Grail again.

Next I painted my ring and pinky with Pretty Serious Cosmetics Seasonal Sunset.  It's FREAKING STUNNING!  It's a perfect metallic rusty red-orange that literally glows!  I used 3 coats to get maximum depth and color richness.   I can't speak highly enough of this polish.  Formula and application were both amazing.  I can't wait to pick up more from this brand!  I also sponged Seasonal Sunset on the tips of my nails that I'd painted with Holy Grail.  Hello yummy gradient!

Finally I topped my gradient nails with 2 coats Hit Polish Jack-O-Lantern.  It's a really great polish that perfectly captures Halloween in a bottle.  Black, orange and yellow glitters in different shapes with a dose of holo sparkle make for a perfect mix.  I got a healthy amount of glitter with the first dip but really wanted my nails covered and blingy so I went for 2 coats.  The glitter laid flat on my nails.  I finished this mani with 1 layer of topcoat.
