KBShimmer February Polish Pickup Exclusive: Rock This Way

Morning beauties!  I can't believe January is already coming to an end.  You know that means the net Polish Pickup is right around the corner!  The February theme is quite delectable, it's Sugar Rush!  The makers were inspired by all things sweet; desserts, candy, cookies, ice cream, etc.  This theme is right up this sweet tooth's alley.  PPU will be open from 2/2 - 2/5 and you'll want to get your wish list ready since last month was huge and several items sold out.  Today's post features Rock This Way created by KBShimmer.  You'll be able to purchase it for $10.  As an interesting little side fact, this is KBShimmer's first time participating in the PPU! Let's jump in and check out the goods!

OPI Give Me Space

Good morning lovelies!  Just a quick post for you today.  A couple weeks back I wore this gorgeous blue from OPI and while I know it's not really ground breaking but it is surely fabulous!  But I say kudos to OPI for putting a scattered holo in one of their collections!  I mean obviously OPI used to release some pretty awesome holos but it seems they haven't dabbled in that finish much lately.  So I welcome this little scattered holo as a step in the right direction.  Hopefully the OPI marketing team sees how much everyone loves this shade (and not those awful frosty glitter polishes they keep trying to make) and they give us a rainbow of scattered holos.

Kiko Real Glare 04 Keen Cobalt Blue

Good morning.  I am being lazy and avoiding a run.  I'd pulled my quad so took some time off from running and now my body doesn't want to get back into it.  Also I'm fighting a cold, thanks kids.  So I decided to share a quickie post - maybe I'll get off my heiney afterwards and hit the pavement.  I wore this gorgeous cobalt blue texture polish from Kiko to an Earthquakes game recently.  Does your city have am MLS team?  If they do you should definitely go to a game, they are really fun to watch!  So The Earthquakes are white and blue, I figured this was the perfect matching shade to show my team spirit.  I picked up this Kiko, as well as a few others when I was in Miami in December.  Imagine my utter shock when I happened to walk by a Kiko store while we were window shopping.  Yup, that ended the window part of the shopping.  Well I came home with quite a haul.  Hopefully I can show you some of the others soon - my untried pile is out of control these days.  So ashamed.

This is Real Glare 04 Keen Cobalt Blue.  It seems to have been a special edition because it was displayed with a makeup selection and other polishes, all done up with this gold accenting.  But I don't know for sure so don't quote me on that.  Keen Cobalt Blue is a gorgeous cobalt blue with an interesting texture finish.  It almost looked like I was painting tiny beads onto my nails.  But it didn't feel like beads, just a light texture.  Definitely different from the Pixie Dust and Sands we are used to.  I used 2 coats for full coverage and no topcoat.  Keen Cobalt Blue had a nice formula, it was easy to apply and very opaque.  It didn't have any staining issues, thankfully.

Essie Encrusted Treasures Lots of Lux & Peak of Chic

Good morning *hands you a hot cup of coffee* !  Now get ready to have your socks knocked off!  O my last trip to my local beauty supply store I found the Essie Encrusted Treasures!  I had actually been waiting and hoping they'd come out so so I literally gasped audibly and snagged a few bottles from the 6 piece collection.  Today I get to show you 2 of them and they are really fabulous!  Like really and truly!  I can't wait to try the other 2 and possibly of back and buy the 2 I left behind.  You can purchase Essie from many local supply stores: Ulta, Peninsula Beauty, I've even seen Essie at Kohl's.  You can also purchase directly from essie.com.  Be sure to follow Essie on Facebook and Instagram (essiepolish).

So...let's talk amazing polish.  First I want to talk about Lots of Lux, the fabulous cobalt blue texture. LoL has an amazing formula and application!  I had complete coverage in 2 coats, the color was very saturated and a perfectly luxurious jewel tone color that will be great for holiday parties.  LoL dried quickly and to a really great feeling texture.  I'd say it falls just a tad grittier than the OPI Sands and Zoya Pixies.  I actually couldn't stop feeling my nails - it's pretty addicting.  I have LoL on my thumb, index and middle fingers.  I didn't use topcoat.

On my ring and pinky I went with Peak of Chic.  Hullo gorgeous matte white and silver holo mini bar glitters!  I adore bar glitters I think they are so fun!  I know I am in the minority here but that's ok - more bar polish for me!  For these nails I started with 2 coats of Color Club Worth the Risque, a silver holo.  I then applied 2 coats of PoC.  I got tons of glitter out and it applied very well.  I would only suggest that you keep an eye on the glitters that end up near the edge of your nail so you don't have bars hanging off.  PoC is sparkly and gorgeous.  I love it.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat but this one was a bit rough still so I'd use 2 (or Gelous) next time.
