Happy 4th of July!

Good evening!  Happy 4th of July!  Some of you are probably getting ready for fireworks, how exciting!  It's only 6pm here but we are probably just going to stay home and avoid all the madness and crowds.  Besides, we've enjoyed a nice relaxing day at home, watching movies (Independence Day of course) and playing on the slip n slide.  I threw together a quick mani and am pretty pleased with how it turned out.  So feel free to head over to my Facebook page and share your 4th of July manis there, I'd love to see them.  Now let's check out what I've got on.

KBShimmer Boho Floral Water Slide Decal

Good morning lovelies!  I have a fun mani to share with you today.  KBShimmer has been releasing water slide decals like a mad woman with even more coming out soon!  I'll admit that I was nervous to try them.  I am not the best when it comes to nail art and I thought these would be hard to work with like *shudders to think* Jamberry.  But I sucked it up and tried them.  Guess what?  They were TOTALLY EASY to use, nothing at all like those thick nail sheets and I can't wait to try more!  I simply followed the direction on the package, applied to my dry nail and BAM, easiest nail art ever.  Seriously folks, you have got to try these out!  My pictures show the Boho Floral Water Slide Decal N211 and you can pick up this sheet of decals now for $2.95 USD. I knew I wanted to try out these water slide decals as an agent nail.  The Boho Floral Water Slide Decals are very intricate and busy.  I didn't want that much going on on my nails.  So I created a skittlette to show off a few KBShimmer products.  I started with Soul Deep on my index and middle nails - 1 glorious coat for perfect coverage.  I then used I Feel Gord-geous on my pinky for a fun bling touch.  On my accent nail I put on the Boho Floral Water Slide Decal.  It was quite simple to work with and apply.  I cute out the rectangle I wanted to use.  I painted my accent nail white and let the polish dry completely.  While waiting for it to dry I trimmed the decal to a shape to fit my nail.  I soaked the cut out design in water for about 10 seconds and you can easily remove the decal from the paper it's on.  Then just lay it over your nail, smooth it out, move it around so it lays to your liking.  DONE! That easy.  I topped it all off with a layer of topcoat.  

Valentine's Skittlette

Good morning!  I have another Valentine's mani to share - yes, another skittlette.  Oh skittlette, how I love thee!  This one turned out so delicate and romantic, I definitely love it!  I used a mainstream, drugstore, international and indie polish to create this look.  Let's jump into the pictures!

I first used Jade Deja Vu on my index nail - hello fantastic hot pink linear holo.  Honestly this is probably the prettiest pink holo I have!  Deja Vu had amazing formula and application.  I used 2 coats and 1 layer of topcoat.  I then used Julie G Rock Candy on my pinky and thumb nails.  Rock Candy is a teal-ish colored texture polish that swings more blue or green depending on the lighting.  It's also got a really great silvery shimmer throughout.  I loved the feel of the texture, it was a perfect grit.  I used 2 coats of Rock Candy.  Finally for my middle and ring fingers I used 2 coats of OPI Skull & Glossbones - a perfect neutral light grey.  I topped it with Red Dog Designs Young At Heart.  Young At Heart is full of "various hues, shapes, and sizes of pink, lime holo, teal holo, white glitters, with microfine holo glitter and pink hearts."  The formula of Young At Heart was great, easy to work with and plenty of glitter came out to play.  I used 2 coats and 1 layer of topcoat.  

Fall Skittlette featuring: RBL Santa Fe Road, CrowsToes Her Goose Got Cooked, Dior Amazonia & Cirque French Roast

Good morning dears!  Popping in with a quick post and lots of pictures!  I did a Fall skittlette and wanted to share it with you!  I'm definitely in the spirit of the season and can't wait to have Autumn colors on my nails for a few months!  So much in fact that I started off with a bang and 4 polishes later here's what I had on my nails.  

Thumb and pinky: Cirque Colors French Roast, 3 coats.  Gorgeous sparkly brown with smattering of gold and red for depth.  This is sheer but builds up nicely.  It dries to a textured feel so I used 2 layers of topcoat on these nails.

Index and Middle: 1 coat of RBL Santa Fe Road, a gorgeous creamy mandarin-orange color with slight green shimmer.  Really nice, thick formula with excellent coverage.  If I wore this without glitter on top I would have used 2 coats just for color richness.  I covered these nails with 3 coats of CrowToes Her Goose Got Cooked.  One of my all time favorite glitter combinations EVER.  Perfect blend of gold, pink and orange! I used 3 coats because I wanted some dense coverage, I would normally only use 1 or 2.  Great glitter payoff, loads of glitter.  It came out easily and laid flush on my nails.  I used 1 thick layer of topcoat on these nails.

Ring finger: I have on 2 coats of Dior Amazonia.  Swoon!  This beautiful dark, safari green definitely makes me think of the dense and lush plants that grown in tropical/jungle places.  It has a not-so-hidden shimmer that is really pretty in real life.  Amazing formula and great application!  I love my Diors.  

All in all I love how this turned out!  It's a great blend of colors that complement each other.  And it's fun.

True Blood Skittlette

Are you a Trubie??  I am!  So I have this quick post to show you a skittlette mani I did for tonight's season premiere!  I AM SO EXCITED!  I am on Team Eric in case you wondered.  So this isn't a review, just some pictures to show you how I paired things together.  I have never done a skitlette and honestly, alot of thought goes into it to make sure you are pairing everything just right.  I'm sure that future skittlettes will be better and more intricate but for today I am happy with how this turned out.  Chit Chat Nails is pretty much the expert on the subject (and the creator from what I can tell).  Here's her tutorial for the method if you are interested in trying it!
