Pretty in Pink Mani using Lumina Lacquer I Want You & Frosting

Good morning and happy Saturday!!  I guess it's about that time when all of us bloggers saturate your news feed with Valentine's Day manis.  Well add me to the list because here's one from me!  Really it's just a lovely pink, but it totally works as an easy Valentine's mani!  Both of the polishes I used are from Lumina Lacquer and you know that's one of my favorite brands.  Lumina always has a fantabulous formula and application and I love that Tatiana has such a wide variety of finishes to chose from.  So let's jump on in and hear about what I'm wearing!

I started with 2 coats of I Want You.  This is creamy (almost a crelly finish) bubblegum pink polish full of micro glitter and tiny sheer silvery flakes.  The first coat is sheer but it built up really well.  I love the shade of pink, its bright enough to be noticed, but not a neon - which I am not quite ready for.  Formula and application of I Want You were both great - no issues to speak of.  I then used a makeup sponge to apply Frosting.  Frosting is a pastel pink holographic micro glitter.  It's very dense and covers perfectly on it's own in a few coats.  So to avoid having fully covered tips I put a light coat of Frosting on the sponge so I could get that perfect glitter gradient effect.  I finished with 2 layers of topcoat for a smooth finish.

Festive Nails for Family Picture Day

Hey hey again!  One more post tonight.  I'm out on the town this evening for a double date of dinner and drinks, wearing my not-so-ugly Christmas Reindeer sweater.  I thought I'd found a good ugly sweater to wear out but I really thought it was pretty darn cute.  Well all my friends said was cute too so there we have it.  Not-so-ugly.  Anyways, I wore a very cute sweater for my annual family picture day and these were the festive nails I did to match!  My kids wore red, the hubby and I wore black so I incorporated both in my nails.  And I hadn't done a nice accent nail in a while so I did just that!  Let's look!

I started with Smitten Polish Nose So Bright.  This is one of my favorite red holos EVER.  I will cry some seriously sad tears when this bottle is empty.  The formula and application of Nose So Bright are both perfection.  I used 2 coats of Nose So Bright and 1 layer of topcoat.  

I then did an accent nail, starting with a plain back creme.  I sponged both Lumina Lacquer Soleil and Different Dimension Big Bang onto the end of my nail.  The blend of silver and gold uber holo micro glitters is just so luxurious.  I finished this off with 1 thick layer of topcoat.  

And just because I thought you might be interested in seeing it...here's my not-so-ugly Christmas sweater.  I found it at the JCrew Factory store and after discounts I only paid $18 for it!  Steal!

6 Harts Polish Summer Skies

I'm excited to show you another 6 Harts Polish!  I really like the last one I reviewed, Cloud Sculptures, and this one is equally as well made.  Summer Skies really captures the essence of a beautiful blue summer sky.  Courtney was inspired by Montana summers and that big blue sky!  With this beautiful polish on and snapping pictures in the sunlight, I am longing for hot summer days!  

I'd say Summer Skies is a shade darker than baby blue and quite a lovely color!  Summer Skies is a nice creamy formula and it applied very nicely.  What I liked best about Summer Skies was the golden shimmer.  You can also see flashes of aqua and green shimmer.  I used 2 coats of Summer Skies for full coverage.  For a little extra flare I sponged CND 24K Sheer Sparkle on my tips to play off the shimmer.  I think they worked well together, don't you?  And that one "streak" of gold reminds me of a ray of sunshine.  1 layer of top coat for smooth, glossy nails.
