ellagee, August Polish Pick Up; Sophia, Queen of the Side Eye

Morning dears!  The kids and I spent 6 hours out in the sun yesterday, playing in the water, going down slides, riding on tubes.  We still went to bed late, slept in, and are slowly getting our acts together for the day.  The plan is to head out to the Boardwalk but I've only got 2/3 kids on board.  I have to take that with a grain of salt because that 1 kid is my black sheep.  No matter what I say, he's the one who goes against it.  Every.  Single.  Time.  Lord help me, he's exasperating.  So exasperating I've also become a Queen of the Side Eye.  Haha!  Well that leads me into the polish named as such, inspired by the stunning Sophia Loren, who truly was the Queen of the Side Eye.  This polish is available through the August Polish Pick Up selections, from 8/4-8/7.  If you haven't figured it out yet, or somehow missed it, the theme is Old Hollywood!  Ok, ready to check this beaut out?  Let go then!

Alter Ego, Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra; August 2017 Polish Pick Up

Afternoon all!  It's not as hot of a day today, thankfully.  Sitting in the sun during swim lessons has been wearing me out!  Today we are headed to the local farm team baseball game!  Woot, go San Jose Giants!  I also get today was a good day to start sharing the Polish Pick Up shades I have!  The August Polish Pick Up theme is Old Hollywood!  I've been perusing pics of the polishes and they are all amazing!  Alter Ego provided a polish this month and it's inspired by Elizabeth Taylor's portrayal of Cleopatra.  Super glamorous and opulent!  The starlets these days could take notes on class and glamour from these old school Hollywood sirens.  But I digress...Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra is gorgeous shade that'll be available from 8/4-8/7.  Check out my pictures below!

Press Release: Girly Bits August COTM, LE Duo

Hello again dears!  I'm excited to share another Press Release with you today, this time for the upcoming Girly Bits Colour of the Month LE Duo for August!  I will have swatches of these to share with you soon so keep an eye out!

Elevation Polish Marco Polo Collection (partial collection review)

Good evening again dears!  Man oh man I had a tiring weekend.  I could close my eyes and sleep for an entire day.  I am a packer - meaning I make plans that fill up the entire weekend.  How was your weekend?  Hopefully more relaxing than mine.  But I also got some posts ready to share with you!  So yay for being productive!  I want to share this one with you first because the release date for the new Marco Polo Collection from Elevation Polish is coming up soon.  Inspired by the Netflix series Marco Polo, this collection is full of rich tones and luxurious finishes.  You can purchase The Marco Polo Collection on 8/7 at 9pm CST!  I have 3 of the 7 polishes from the collection to share with you now - you can see the full collection at Ashley Is Polish Addicted and Adventures In Acetone.  I simply adored them all and I think you will too!  Let's delve in to the post, shall we?

Up first I have Zhenjin.  This is a "true burnished gold metallic medium density holo."  It's gorgeous. And it looks like liquid gold on my nails.  Zhenjin is very opaque and has a formula that was very easy to work with.  I think this posh would work for stamping too!  I'd only mention that if you over work the polish on your nails you might end up with visible brushstrokes.  I used 2 coats of Zhenjin and no topcoat.  

Le Citta Invisibli is a "purple leaning taupe with ultra chrome flakies."  I also see some shimmer in there!  This is such a unique polish.  The color, the finish.  I have absolutely nothing like it and I am over the moon in love with it.  This base color is so beautiful and neutral.  The addition of the ultra chrome flakies is a perfect touch of flare - but not overwhelmingly so.  The formula and application were both perfect.  Smooth, buttery, creamy.  I used 2 coats of Le Citta Invisibli for full coverage and 1 layer of topcoat.

And finally there is Saif al Jabbar.  Yeah, this was my favorite.  It's absolutely stunning.  And have I mentioned how happy I am with all these earthy shades?  Well I am!  Saif al Jabbar has a "blackened base with red shift to gold shimmer and medium density holo."  This polish is so deep and dark, it's almost a purple-chocolatey shade.  It's definitely delicious!  That red shimmer - swoon!  The formula and application were both fabulous.  I used 2 coats of Saif al Jabbar and no topcoat.
