Stargazer 128

Good morning lovelies!  I have a real beauty to share with you today.  Yet it's a brand I hadn't heard of until very recently.  From my research on the website I learned that Stargazer was founded in 1978 in the middle of the punk rock scene in London.  So they have been around for a good while and were definitely influenced by punk rock.  My friend Gina sent me a couple of these in a swap package and color me impressed.  Thanks for the awesome polish girl!  

This beauty has no name, just a number.  That always bothers me because I can never remember names of polish let alone numbers.  128 is a gorgeous polish that falls somewhere between berry and magenta.  But it also has some duochrome to it!  In real like it seems darker purple, and I also see flashes of gold!  Very pretty.  Application was nice and after 2 coats I had a nice rich color pay off.  You can very lightly see the whites of my nails on the tips so if you have longer nails you would probably want to use 3 coats.  The brush was a little wonky but there are really no application or formula issues to report.  I finished this mani with 1 layer of topcoat.        

Zoya Satin Collection

Good morning readers!  I am already enjoying the Fall and feeling so inspired by the season.  Today I have another fun mani for you!  I recently received the Zoya Satin collection in a swap from one of my polish besties and they are so lovely!  I used almost the entire collection and the "fan brush method" on this design and love how it is jewel tone gorgeousness!  Zoya is a great brand with very high quality polish.  I have a well rounded plethora of Zoyas and they are all fantastic.  It's absolutely worth it to follow Zoya on Facebook and Instagram (zoyanailpolish).  They have frequent promos and freebies.  So let's just jump into the details of how I created this look and the pictures!
I used Giovanna, an emerald green with a pinch of teal and pretty shimmer.  It's really lovely and I loved it so much more on the nail than in the bottle!  I only needed 2 coats of Giovanna for full coverage.  Application and formula were both perfection (this goes for all the polishes I tried from the Satin collection).  I also used 1 coat of Neve, a shimmery deep blurple.  I then used a nail art fan brush to create a haphazard striped look.  I used the polish brush and dabbed a little in a small glass dish, then used the fan brush to pick up the polish and swiped the fan brush with polish over my nails.  I have seen this method before but mainly with horizontal stripes.  So I went for vertical.  I am really happy with how it turned out.  I used Neve, Channing (a rusty, shimmer red-orange), and Mason (a shimmery berry-violet) with the fan brush on top of Giovanna.  I also used 2 coats of Maria-Luisa, a glittery gold topper, over Neve.  I finished this all off with 1 layer of topcoat.

Fall Skittlette featuring: RBL Santa Fe Road, CrowsToes Her Goose Got Cooked, Dior Amazonia & Cirque French Roast

Good morning dears!  Popping in with a quick post and lots of pictures!  I did a Fall skittlette and wanted to share it with you!  I'm definitely in the spirit of the season and can't wait to have Autumn colors on my nails for a few months!  So much in fact that I started off with a bang and 4 polishes later here's what I had on my nails.  

Thumb and pinky: Cirque Colors French Roast, 3 coats.  Gorgeous sparkly brown with smattering of gold and red for depth.  This is sheer but builds up nicely.  It dries to a textured feel so I used 2 layers of topcoat on these nails.

Index and Middle: 1 coat of RBL Santa Fe Road, a gorgeous creamy mandarin-orange color with slight green shimmer.  Really nice, thick formula with excellent coverage.  If I wore this without glitter on top I would have used 2 coats just for color richness.  I covered these nails with 3 coats of CrowToes Her Goose Got Cooked.  One of my all time favorite glitter combinations EVER.  Perfect blend of gold, pink and orange! I used 3 coats because I wanted some dense coverage, I would normally only use 1 or 2.  Great glitter payoff, loads of glitter.  It came out easily and laid flush on my nails.  I used 1 thick layer of topcoat on these nails.

Ring finger: I have on 2 coats of Dior Amazonia.  Swoon!  This beautiful dark, safari green definitely makes me think of the dense and lush plants that grown in tropical/jungle places.  It has a not-so-hidden shimmer that is really pretty in real life.  Amazing formula and great application!  I love my Diors.  

All in all I love how this turned out!  It's a great blend of colors that complement each other.  And it's fun.

Femme Fatale Pools of Vision & Edge of the Cosmos

Good afternoon readers!  Sorry for disappearing for a bit!  Sometimes life gets hectic with 3 littles and a household to run.  Being a soccer mom isn't always the easiest job but it's definitely a rewarding one.  About a week back I reviewed some lovely Femme Fatale Cosmetics nail polish.  You can see the post for Gravity Lapse and Fatal Attraction HERE!  Today I have 2 more beautiful polishes to share!  I have been highly impressed with the quality and formula on all the Femmes that I have.  This is a great brand  that puts out great products.  Femme Fatal Cosmetics is an Australian brand and shop that carries a large variety of products including lots of indie nail polish.  If you don't live in Australia don't fret...there are plenty of stockist that carry the brand *insert the sound of thousands of women rejoicing at one time*  Harlow & Co, Ninja Polish, Color4Nails, Norway Nails and Beauty Softly.  You can also follow Femme Fatale on Instagram (femme_fatale_cosmetics).  Let's move into the review shall we?

This lovely fellow is Pools of Vision.  On the FFC website it's described as a "grey tinted off white with a variety of cool toned (grey, teal, white, aqua, green) glitters scattered throughout.  POV is kind of a trickster to the eye - sometimes the base looked white, sometimes light blue, and others grey.  I love how the almost pastel and neon glitters really popped through the base color.  Of course the neon green glitters were my favorites, they really brought some fun color to the mix.  I used 3 coats for full coverage and had plenty of glitter show up on my nails.  The glitters laid flat and I had no problems with the formula or application.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.

Edge of the Cosmos is another lovely polish.  It's described as a "blackened purple base with fine holographic particles, and a variety of holo shapes and sizes."  It's gorgeous for this time of year.  It's dark and vampy with silver holos moons and stars.  The base on EOTC is jelly so it's nice and squishy and very shiny.  This is another trickster because it appears to be a very dark purple or a deep raspberry depending on the lighting.  I again used 3 coats and had no issues at all with the formula or application. I had plenty of glitter shapes come out and they all laid flush with my nails.  I did use 1 layer of topcoat to seal in the glitter (and force of habit) but EOTC has a nice glossy finish so topcoat isn't really necessary.
