Fit Snack Box: July 2018

Evening!  Got another post to share with you today!  This is the July Fit Snack Box and guess what?  You still have time to get this one!  As always, I was pleased with all the options I received in this months box and felt many of them fit my busy and active lifestyle well.  Don't think you have to be a trail runner or organized sports athlete to get the most out of these snacks.  I toss them in my bag for my kids to eat on the go and use them as supplements in dinners.  The variety of products included make it easy for anyone to eat better, make better choices, stay on track!  As I've mentioned with many of my past reviews, you can save 30% off your first order using my link HERE.  So let's jump in and see the box!

As always, I have one of my kids opinions included in most of the snacks.  I actually even got the hubby to try some of these out too so you'll see his opinion included.

Yes means we loved it and would stock it in our house
Maybe means we liked it and would eat it if hungry
No means we wouldn't eat it again

First up we have Lesser Evil Grain Free Paleo Puffs.  I received the Himalayan Pink Salt flavor.  First off the puffs themselves reminded me a bit of Pirate's Booty with the mouth texture.  First taste is salt, but not overwhelming, just a nice light salt flavor.  Then it evolves into a coconut flavor.  Surprisingly, I liked it (and I am not always the biggest fan of coconut).  I would absolutely toss these in my kids lunches and keep around for an after school snack.

Next product is BuckWHAT! buckwheat super snacks.  I don't think I've ever tried anything made with buckwheat but I do hear it's a filling ingredient.  I got the Crunchy Peanut flavor, which is great because peanut is a flavor that I enjoy and can compare to other peanut products easily.  Ok so at first sight this reminded me of a dog treat.  It's a package of round, dense disks.  The disks themselves are thick and dry and heavy on the cinnamon flavor.  I don't know that I would select this product as a daily snack but I can see where it would be useful.  It would be a great, hearty snack to pack in your backpack and take out on a long trail run.

Love the name of this product! Huppy Bar is a whole food, nut and seed based nutrition bar.  It's gluten, soy, dairy, GMO and preservative free.  I got the Apple Cinnamon Flavor.  At first look on the package and the bar itself I worried that I wouldn't enjoy the bar.  I was totally wrong.  I really liked it!  Tasty and hearty but most importantly, healthy!  It is dense, nutty and yummy.  No chocolate in it means I can toss it in my purse and not worry about it melting in this heat.

I love trying bars!  Freedom Bar is a no sugar added, dairy free, gluten free, soy free, kosher, vegan, plant based nutrition bar.  I got another Apple Cinnamon treat to try and that's fine, I do enjoy that flavor.  It was denser than I thought it would be.  I enjoyed the dried fruit (dates and apples) as they were a nice mouth texture change from the last few bars.  In line with my runner thinking, this will be an easy snack to put in my hydration pack and keep with me if I get hungry on a trail run or hike.

I feel as if I have seen WOWBUTTER somewhere before, likely the grocery store shelves.  But I can't recall.  I know I have never tried it so I was happy to do so because I am a huge peanut butter, sunflower butter, almond butter fan.  But WOWBUTTER is a peanut free spread that has the same taste and texture as peanut butter.  Ok, I'm excited to try it!  I got 4 single serving packages that would be perfect for lunch boxes.  Lifting the seal I thought, Hey! this does look like peanut butter.  Got a little on my spoon and it was pretty thick.  First taste, pasty but good.  I think it's just really thick and that will take some getting used to but overall I enjoyed the taste.

Stick with me!  Only 2 more products to review!  Lynq Empowdered is a powdered fruit and veggie supplement that is packed full of vitamins.  You can add this to any drink, smoothie or food and it won't change the flavor.  This is like the miracle magic powder for those parents out there with kids who refuse to eat their veggies!  Stir a scoop into their milk or bowl of cereal and they will have NO IDEA they are getting in some veggie goodness.  It's loaded with 12 fruits and veggies and 6 grams of fiber.  I will admit I was scared to add it to my drink because how could it taste like nothing??  I put a scoop into my coconut water...verdict says...it did not change the flavor at all!  Naomi was more adventurous and tried a scoop in her milk...did not change the flavor!  This is like powdered vegetable gold people!

Last product is the Mylk Labs Oatmeal.  I got Roasted Almond and Himalayan Pink Salt (I'm sensing flavor patterns in this box).  This oatmeal is 100% sweetened with coconut sugar and the perfect grab and go meal.  I opened this at the perfect time, the night before I jumped on a plane.  I saved this for the early morning meal I needed to get me going and it was a perfect choice.  Hot and oatmealy, good wake me up breakfast that stuck to my ribs for a few hours.  I will admit that it wasn't nearly sweet enough for me and I ended up adding more brown sugar but overall I totally enjoyed the oatmeal and would happily eat a cup of this for breakfast most mornings.
