Sally Hansen Color Therapy; LE Enchanting Gems Collection, Partial Review

Afternoon y'all!  I just picked up my kids and we're all kicking it in the house now, happy that we have a week off next week.  Of course our schedule is as busy as ever but at least we can take things a bit more slowly and enjoy our time together. I'm squeezing in a quickie post before I head off to my daughter's last soccer practice for the season. Today I have a few polishes from the Sally Hansen Enchanting Gems collection to share with you. This is a limited edition collection, with 6 shades available, that you can pick up at your local drug store. Price point is $8.99 each. The Color Therapy line is nail polish that contains a patented micro-delivery system which delivers an argan oil enhancing formula, resulting in intensive nourishment and instant moisture for healthier-looking nails. The Color Therapy nail polish needs no base coat so the oil complex can directly contact the bare nail. Loving the good for your nails polish!  Ok then, let's check them out!

KB Shimmer 6th Anniversary Collection

Good morning!  Sorry for no post yesterday, it's the last week of summer break for my kids and we've been out and about taking care of our summer bucket list.  We are headed out to the beach soon, but I wanted to drop this post and share this amazing trio with you!  This is KB Shimmer's 6th (YES SIXTH) Anniversary Collection and it's all kinds of fabulous!  A creme, a crelly and a super blingy full coverage glitter make up this set.  You can purchase each of these separately for $7.50/$8.75 each or as a set (3 full sized bottles) for $21.00!  I also did a nail art look using all 3 of these polishes and some of the new Nail Vinyl Decals, which are also available right now for $5.00 a sheet.  So let's look at the pictures and you can decide which you need!

Shore Thing is a "bright aqua-mint cream with blue-green undertones."  It's such a refreshing and beautiful color, it really does bring a beach feel to my nails and I wish I had a tropical drink in hand while on a tropical island.  The formula was great, nice and creamy and easy to apply.  I used 3 thin coats of Shore Thing for full coverage and 1 layer of topcoat.

Beach Please is not only a hilarious name, it's an amazing polish!  Described as a "bright, near neon pink cream with purple leanings." I actually found Beach Please to be more of a crelly formula, but the end result is the same - a gorgeous pink that screams vacation!  After 2 coats I still had the tiniest bit of visible nail line so I applied a 3rd.  I did not use topcoat because Beach Please dried pretty shiny on it's own.  

Here is Hexy Bikini, a texture polish full of "holo glitters in silver, teal, and pink."  Hexy Bikini is uber blingy and sparkly.  It's a full coverage glitter texture with a great formula and easy application.  I used 2 coats of Hexy Bikini alone but you could easily use 1 coat over a base color for a fun, lightly glittered look.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat  

For this look I've used all 3 polishes from the Anniversary Collection with some of the new nail vinyls!  I started with Hexy Bikini on my index and ring finger nails.  I used 2 coats of Hexy Bikini and sprayed with quick dry spray.  Once completely dry I used tweezers to place the vinyls on my nails.  I tried the suggested method of placing the vinyl on my hand to take some of the super stick off but I found the vinyls didn't stick well enough then - so I place them directly on my nails straight from the sheet.  I then painted over my nails with Shore Thing and Beach Please, using 2 coats, and peeling the vinlys off while the paint was still wet.  Easy peasy!  I used Beach Please as a base for my middle finger and lightly dabbed Hexy Bikini on the tip for a glitter gradient look.  Shore Thing was the base on my pinky and I sponged Beach Please on the tip for a gradient look, topping the entire nail off with a light coat of Hexy Bikini.  Ta-Da!  Vinyls make the easiest nail art ever!

Color Secrets She's All That

Good morning/afternoon!  I am SO lazy today.  I'm still in my pajamas, just finished breakfast and coffee.  I'm currently writing up a grocery list but decided that was boring so now I'm here finishing this post to share Color Secrets Professional with you!  This is a brand I came across at CosmoProf North America (post HERE) and stopped in my tracks to ogle their display!  It was full of gorgeous colors - creme and shimmers and glitters to my hearts content!  Well I got a little tour and a background of the brand.  Color Secrets is a vegan, 5-free polish, cruelty free line and all the polishes are named after movies!  On top of that there is a big line of makeup and skin care!  I also have some lip and eye products to try out so keep watch for that post soon!  Let's jump on in to my post and check out Color Secrets!

This is She's All That - yes, after the movie She's All That.  This is a neon hot pink polish with purple shimmer.  Can I just say I love the shimmer, it's so pretty and prominent!  I found the formula nice and creamy.  The consistency was perfect and I had no problems with pooling or dragging, etc.  The formula was great and the polish applied like a dream.  She's All That finished with a high shine gloss.  I used 2 coats of She's All That and no topcoat!  The dry time was fairly quick too.  If this isn't a brand you have checked out I feel it's definitely worth a try - and at $3.99 a bottle how could you say no?!    

Summer of Untrieds Day 30: Thermal

Good morning.  Today's theme and polish make me really happy so I couldn't wait to share day 30 of the Summer of Untrieds challenge with you!  I kinda love this theme and this polish.  Ok I love it a lot!  The theme was thermal and I tried out one of the new polishes I received as a sample from a CPNA (CosmoProf North America) after party!  I have never tried Jaded Nail Co before but I was very happy with this polish so you can bet I'll be perusing her shop and adding to my wish list!  You should head over and browse around too!  The great news is that while this was a CPNA exclusive, it looks like Jaded Nail Co will be releasing a very limited supply of these!  Keep an eye on her Facebook page for details on that sale date!

Vegas Heat is a totally gorgeous coral-hot pink polish with loads of gold and purple shimmer.  This shade is it's warm state.  I had to cheat a little and dip my tips into a bowl of ice cold water to get it to change to the cold state (hey, it was 90 degrees out!) So after a little ice bath my tips turned into a bright red-orange shade with the same shimmer showing through.  WOW - I am enamored with both colors in Vegas Heat!  They truly are hot and capture the fun, bright Vegas vibe!  The formula was a tad sheer so I used 3 coats for full coverage.  I also found that Vegas Heat dried a little gritty but 1 layer of topcoat smoothed everything out perfectly.

*edit* I recently found out that Vegas Heat is a glow in the dark polish as well!  That ingredient would have caused the tiny bit of grittiness. Here's a pic of the glowy goodness!  

Dior Creoles

HELLO polish friends!  It feels like forever since I've written up a post of my own!  Another huge thank you to all the ladies that helped keep my blog going while I've been on vacation!  It's much appreciated, big hugs to you all!  Now technically I am still on vacation, but I thought ahead and got a few posts prepped with pictures and notes so I am just rolling with it and posting these as time allows.  So bare with me through short, quick, and possibly haphazardly written up posts.  
This beauty is Dior Creoles from the 2013 Summer Mix collection.  It's gorgeous, it's bright, it's playful, it made my iPhone camera go bonkers and take hazy pictures.  Fortunately my regular camera did a better job and I actually got some descent pictures.  There's just something about this shade of hot pink that I can't get enough of.  It's not neon, but it's pretty dang bright.  Creoles has a blue undertone which I think works nicely with my skin tone (or maybe it just works with my tan?).  This baby applied like a dream, just like all the other Diors I have reviewed.  2 creamy and luxurious coats for full coverage.  Bonus - you can see the pretty hidden shimmer in the macro!  I used 1 layer of topcoat.

Kiko Sugar Mats

Are you a fan of the textured polishes?  I sure am!  I love them!  I think they are so much fun, I love the colors that have been coming out, I love the sparkle and the feel of them.  I've tried OPI Sands, Zoya Pixie Dust and now I have Kiko Sugar Mats!  I even did a little diagonal design for you to see more than just one color!  A big thanks to my Friend Michaela at The Mani Cafe for sending these to me!  
I started this mani with 2 coats of Hot Pink (which is truly a gorgeous hot pink shade) on my thumb and index and 2 coats of Sea Blue  (a lighter shade of royal blue, but bright for Spring and Summer) on my pinky.  I then hand drew diagonals on my middle and ring finger with Golden Mandarin (a fun peachy orange color), Spring Green (bright green, perfect Spring color) and Sea Blue.  I loved all of these colors and don't think I could pick a favorite if I had to.  Application for the Sugar Mats was great, easy to apply and full coverage in the 2 coats.  The coolest thing is watching the polish dry into the textured final product.  I have no idea how it works but it's awesome!  Speaking of drying, the dry time was quicker than I expected and the polish lasted for a few days before I noticed any tip wear.  I would say that the Kikos are in a tie for first place with the OPI Sands for my favorite textured formulas.  But the Kikos win for color saturation and selection!  Enjoy the pictures below!
